VER 1.00: can't navigate with the up, down, left & right keys

When i turn my camera on i get the message VER 1.00 in white on a black screen, then my viewfinder image appears. i can still take photos but can't change settings or view my images because the navigation key isn't working. i use the camera daily (i have toddler twins) and this just happened today. the worst thing about it is no videos possible. what can i do?????????? i tried taking out the battery and memory card. letting it sit for a while and recharging the battery (even though it wasn't dead). nothing's changed.
also, since i'm here, every time i recharge the battery i have to reset the date and time-how annoying, shouldn't there be a built in memory? thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Some cameras, as well as having the main battery, also have a 'button-cell' type of battery that holds the system information such as date and time etc. I know not whether yours is one of these, but it should tell you in the manual

How do i fix my moms old flip prepaid tracfone text mess to type ;etters

Hello -

Apparently you do not have the user's manual for the phone.

This is a link to the manual (PDF format - Adobe Acrobat Reader software - free) for your model of cell phone:
https://d28dq596ebml6z.cloudfront.net/media/wysiwyg/att-z223/AT_T_Z223_User_Guide_English_-_PDF_-_8.43MB_.pdf
Note: The instructions are from AT&T, but are the same for the Tracfone.

The instructions for entering text begins on page 11 (image 9) of the instructions.

When you are in the messaging option (the envelope icon), and have chosen Create New Message, look at the white rectangle near the top right of the screen. To change from digits to letters (which will display in that small white rectangle), press the # key (lowest left corner of the key pad.)

You should then see a pop-up window offering you choices of letters (capitals only, capital followed by lower case, lower case only), digits, etc. Use the Up and Down navigation buttons to move to your choice for input and then press OK button (in the middle of the 4 navigation keys.)

Best wishes.

My TV has a black square in the middle of the picture. How do I fix that?

Hi,

Your screen is showing a black picture because the closed caption function has been activated. When this closed caption mode is turned on the screen will display an 80% black picture.

To turn off the closed caption and regain a full screen please follow these steps;

1) Press the Menu button

2) Use the up and down arrows to navigate to Closed Caption

3) Use the right or left arrows to select it.

4) Use the right or left arrows to select OFF

5) Use the up or down arrows to select Finish

6) Use the right or left arrows to save the settings and exit.

You should have your full screen back now minus the annoying black box.

Thanks for using FixYa. A rating is appreciated if the solution has worked for you.

Black screen when camera is on...did you get an answer?

One configuration option for the F700 is to turn off the LCD when taking pictures and use the view finder-- this saves battery power. If you press the DISP button to the right of the LCD should turn on.
.
To turn the LCD back on-- Press MENU/OK (you should see the SELF TIMER screen). Press RIGHT ARROW to select the SET option. Press UP ARROW to select the SETUP option. Press MENU/OK. You should see the SET-UP screen. Use the UP/DOWN Arrows to navigate the options; use the LEFT/RIGHT Arrows to cycle through the options. The IMAGE DISP and the LCD options control when the LCD is powered on.
