Re: Caller ID doesnot attear
Sorry it took so long to get back to you with a answer to you problem. You must try to reset the microprocessor in the Clock/Radio. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source.Then remove the Internal battery(CR2430). Let the Clock/Radio set without a power source for about 3 hours. This will discharge the microprocessor and reset it. After you have discharged the microprocessor,you can reinstall the internal battery. Connect the Clock/Radio to the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio's Functions should have returned to normal function. If the Clock/Radio did not return to normal function, you must replace the internal battery and again let the microprocessor discharge. After the microprocessor has discharged,put in the new internal battery and reconnect the Clock/Radio to the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio should have returned to normal function. If you are still having problem with the functions of the Clock/Radio, You will have to call Emerson Customer Support. The telephone number for the Emerson customer support is 1-800-909-1240. you can call them between the hours of 8am-4:30pm CT. Give them the make and model number of the Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance. I hope this information help you with your problems with the Clock/Radio. Caller ID information is sent after the first full ring. If the call is answered too soon, the caller ID information may not have been sent yet. Some of the many and varied networks do not send caller ID information. In this case you may notice that caller ID is missing only on calls from certain callers. Occasionally bad data is sent, causing your phone to reject it.
The one who can show the caller ID when someone call is the caller only. He/she can set to hide his/her number ID in their phone so we can't see it. We can't force to see this caller ID, but if this calls disturbed you, you can install call blocker and only allow certain incoming call to be recieved.
Thanks for using FixYa. I think you have stored more than 100 Caller ID messages and hence the caller ID is not showing on Uniden Tru8888.In the following cases the caller ID will not be shown-
If you answer a call before the Caller ID message is received (for example, before the second ring), the Caller ID message will not appear.
When the call is received via a telephone company that does not offer Caller ID service, the caller’s phone number and name does not appear. (This includes some international calls.)
When the call is via a private branch exchange (PBX), the caller's phone number and name may not appear.
You may receive any one of the following messages:
When a private name is received; Private Name
When a private number is received; Private Number
When a unknown name is received; Unknown Name
When a unknown number is received; Unknown Number
When invalid data is received; Incomplete Data
The Caller ID list stores information for incoming calls - even unanswered calls. You can store up to 100 Caller ID messages and phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) for each handset and the base. You can view the Caller ID list through the handset or base during a call or when the phone is in standby mode.
Memory locations for Caller ID messages and Phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) are common, you can store up to all 100 entries for each handset and the base. Caller ID messages are not stored when you have 100 phonebook entries. When you have stored a total of 100 phonebook entries and Caller ID messages, the oldest Caller ID message is overwritten.

First you need to verify if the caller id does that to all incoming calls, showing numbers only, or if it only does that to only numbers stored in directory. If it does that to all incoming calls then you need to check manual to see if there a setting to allow both name and number of all incoming calls. Either way you need to make sure caller id functions allows both name /number on display.
the directory key is storage for caller id. dtr80 is not the type of system but the type of phone. The system needs to have other components like a mif card in order to store caller id. Also if your phone does not ring with incoming outside call than you will not get caller id.

While the present Caller ID information is displayed, pressing */tone/< will place
or remove the prefix "1" in the display to set the call for a long distance call, or
pressing #/> will set or cancel an area code (see page 30).
Storing Caller ID messages in the Phonebook
Messages shown in the Caller ID list can be stored in the phonebook. The phone
number and name of the party on the Caller ID list can be stored in memory.
1) When the phone is in standby mode, select the Caller ID message to be stored.
Then press the STORE soft key on the base or the EDIT soft key on the handset.
From the handset, then select E D I T ?. S t o r e / E d i t N a m e appears. If the Caller ID
message is already stored in memory, you will hear a beep and T h i s d a t a i s
a l r e a d y s t o r e d ! ! appears. The number will not be stored.
2) To complete the setting, follow the steps 3-8 in "Phonebook (Storing Phone
Numbers, Names, Distinctive Rings, and Speed Dial)" on pages 42-43.
