No sound

Audio drivers for this model are only distributed on Vista, there is no downloadable driver for XP.

Here is Vista driver: » Conexant High-Definition Audio Driver

For XP try the following, it works only on some model: Conexant High Definition Audio Driver

If the driver does not work, then you have a different model, or the laptop audio card is faulty, or is muted from settings.

I want audio output drivers

First of all, let me tell you that the DV1000 series Notebooks are divided into two types..

One type is shipped with Conexant AC-Link Audio card and the other models are shipped with Conexant High Definition Audio card.

So, if your Notebook is shipped with AC-Link audio card, you will not be able to install the High Definit audio drivers and vice versa.

So, first, try downloading and installing the Conexant AC-Link Audio card Drivers for your Notebook from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32272.exe

Save the file on the Desktop or My Documents folder and double click once the download is completed to installs the drivers.

However, if you are unable to install the above Drivers, we can come to a conclusion that the Notebook is installed with High Definition Audio and to install this drivers, we need to install the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture(UAA) drivers before installing the Audio Drivers.

Download the Microsoft UAA Drivers for your Notebook from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe

Save the file on the Desktop or My Documents folder and double click once the download is completed to installs the drivers.

Once the download and installation is completed, restart the Notebook and now, you can download and install the Conexant High Definition Audio drivers from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32864.exe

Restart the Notebook and you should be able to use the notebook normally.

Hope this helps...
