Steps....

CHECK UR PRINTER CABLE.....

Make sure your printer cable is securely connected between the PC and printer. The cable should be less than 10 feet (3 m) long.
Step2Check for any bent pins on the printer cable. If you find any, straighten them with needle-nose pliers. Step3If you aren't sure about your cable, try swapping it with one from another printer. If the printer suddenly starts working, you know that your original cable is defective. Step4If you're replacing a parallel cable, be sure to get an IEEE 1284 (look at the packaging label or ask a salesperson). Older cables often won't work in newer printers, even though they might look like they should. UPDATE AND RELOAD UR DRIVERS 1Check the Web site for your printer's manufacturer and download the latest version of the driver software for your printer. Step2Open the Printers folder through the Start, Settings menus. Step3Right-click on the icon for your printer. Step4Choose Delete. Step5Double-click on the Add Printer icon in the Printers folder. Step6Follow the Add Printer wizard directions to reinstall the driver software VERIFY PRINTER PROPERTIES
Open the Printers folder through the Start, Settings menus. Step2Right-click on the icon for your printer, then select Properties. Step3Verify that all of your printer's properties are configured as recommended by your printer's manufacturer. You can look up these guidelines in the documentation that came with your printer or, if you've misplaced it, on the manufacturer's Web site CHECK UR PARALLEL PORT SETTING Right-click on My Computer and select Properties (in Windows 2000, you'll need to then click on the Hardware tab). Step2Go to Device Manager. Step3Double-click on Ports (COM and LPT). Step4Double-click on Printer Port (LPT1) and select the Resources tab. Step5Check the "Conflicting device list" box for an interrupt request line (IRQ) conflict. No other device should be using the same IRQ as the printer port. Step6If you find a conflict, disable the offending device or assign it a new IRQ. To disable a device, find it in Device Manager, open its Properties dialog box, select the General tab and check "Disable in this hardware profile." REMOVE TEMPORARY FILES AND SOPPL FILES Windows must be off, so restart your computer to a DOS command prompt. In Windows 95, press F8 when you see the words "Starting Windows 95" appear, then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only from the Startup menu. Step2In Windows 98, restart your computer, press and hold down the Control key after your computer completes the Power-On Self- Test, then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only from the Startup menu. Step3At the command prompt, type the word "set," then press Enter. Step4Write down the location (the DOS file path) of the TEMP variable. Step5Change your directory to the folder you noted in step 4. For example, if TEMP is set to C:WindowsTemp, you'll type "cd windowstemp" and then press Enter. Step6Once you're in the Temp folder, you can delete any temporary files that might be there, by typing "del *.tmp" and then pressing Enter. Don't delete these files while Windows is running, because Windows 95/98 or a Windows-based program might be using one of them. Step7Type "cd windowsspoolprinters" and then press Enter to switch to the spool folder. Step8Delete any spool files you find here by typing "del *.spl" and then pressing Enter. .... Thnx.

Hi,

Depending on the brand and model of the printer, it is power supply related. Some printers have external power supply that supply dual voltage as those used by some HP. Still others have built-in power supply. Most designs would have a fuse. However, to gain access to the fuse, the adapter or the printer unit has to be opened up. More often, the fuse is always located right after the AC cord.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

1. Try a different power outlet
2. Change the power cable

Ink level has nothing to do with printer not turning on.

Also check the power button. If you still have the problem, the power board needs to be repaired / checked for any loose connection.

Thanks

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer ONLY WHEN PROMPTED, to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken. Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts. Sometimes the power supply unit must be checked as a poor SMPS unit can deliver low voltage and cause issues to the printer function. Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.

My Hp does not recognize my color cartridge?

Sometimes the color bleeds over. Did you wipe down the contacts and clean the heads? Also, most of the cartridges have low ink sensors in the. Even if you have them refilled, they will still show as low ink. The only solution is to buy the new ones.... $$$$$$.
