I have looked at the menu options on monitor
There is a speaker ? showing sound waves adjustable mumbers, at minute 28
There is a speaker ? with a X in front of it option is ON or OFF
Nothing seems to do anything.

I have upended the monitor (for 1st time) and found a green and a blue jack hole. Under frame of monitor (model 821A) I had only looked at base support and there was nothing there, I was actually covering these two connection points with hands holding monitor up.
I will get a connection cable and join ti computer green to green.
So many thanks, do I have to do anything else to make work ? anything on menu buttons on monitor ?

Hey...Dude,
To check if there a built-in speakers... look under the monitor and look for a audio jack usually located next to the VGA and power connections. If you got one, then you need a audio cable to connected to from your monitor to your pc audio output jack.
Well, all you need it plugged the audio cable to each end of the jacks. Then open your on screen display on your monitor and set the volume control to your desire settings. And that it...you can listens or watched your favorite movies...but built-in speakers only came 2 watts, doesn't have a good quality sound. Anyways, have fun!
