SOURCE: Am getting the following error

You are getting a hardware failure notification, which was caused by trying to get the temperature of a processor. The cpu board has a problem.

thats as much as I can translate from the error message.

With all due respect, with a 12K - 20k or how ever much it cost you, you can afford to get a professional repairer or contact sun directly, you are at a user to user helpsite, the cheapest possible support.

It is so extremely unlikely that you would find someone with direct experience with this machine from this website.

Dell poweredge 830 cd-rom unknown bios

Enter the set up (BIOS) menu by tapping the F2 key. Hold down the <Alt> key and depress the <E> then the <F> keys in succession. This will force the motherboard to load default settings and also force the motherboard to redetect all IDE devices. Note: The selection for the floppy drive will be set to ON. If you do not have one then you must disable floppy in set up (BIOS) menu.

Hi im Rain.
Ok if it recognize that the DVD drive is there try cleaning the drive .
  1. Blow drive out with can air.
  2. Use lens cleaning disk.
Clean the Disk to ensure your not leaving a finger print on it. You never know how sensitive the lens is.
You can also try rebooting the Drive.
  1. Click Start.
  2. Click My computer.
  3. Locate the DVD drive
  4. Right click on the drive and go to properties.
  5. Click on Hardware.
  6. Select your drive.
  7. Click on Properties.
scroll all the way down. Now you will see where it says Device Usage. You will see where it shows that your drive is enabled. Ok there is a small arrow pointing down. If you click that you will see how to disable your drive.
click on the arrow and disable your DVD drive.
click apply or ok to Apply the setting.
now reboot your Unit.
Now your drive is disabled. Now you will need to repeat the steps again but this time you want to enable the drive. Click Apply and ok .
Reboot your Unit. { Note DO NOT open the DVD tray while yu are booting up. Ok allow the unit to get to desktop. Now insert DVD .
If this fails you may need to replace or service the DVD drive.

Drive array problem

Hi Nick ,

As of now you can Select "F2" to accept data loss and re-enable logical drive. This Load OS Normally .
It seems that one of the HDD in the RAID 5 has failed , Did you notice any LED indications like red or amber on the HDDs ?? if so get that hdd replaced . Make sure the Failed HDD is replaced .
You can run the Array Diagnostic Utility from HP System tools to check the Failed Drives and also frimware version of the controller . If the frimware is not latest Update it from HP website. DL380 G4 should have Smart Array 6i controller .

Hope This was Helpful
cheers :)
