It apropos of what? No. No norton for you, scum. You haven't even described an actual problem, so you go back 5 squares and eat a lightbulb.

I purchased this computer, 2 gig memory last year. I had just put in Norton and it is running SUPER slow. How can I reset this computer to run normal? This is not the laptop

I have known several people who have had similar issues with norton, It seems to be quite resource hungry, if you really want to keep norton then I would suggest a RAM upgrade to give your machine more power, alternatively, you could try another antivirus, I use Microsoft Security Essentials and it works well for me.

However, check to see if norton is running a system scan, this will almost definately make your machine run slower.

How To Completely Remove All Norton Products

Use the Norton Removal Tool to remove a failed installation or a damaged Norton product. Note: The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2003 and later products, Norton 360, and Norton SystemWorks 12.0 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed.

You may need your Product Key if you plan to reinstall your Norton product.
Click here for help finding your Product Key.

Completely Remove All Norton Products
  1. Download the Norton Removal Tool.
  2. Close all programs and run the Norton Removal Tool.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Restart the computer if asked.

Have norton 360 installed on my computer, had one or two problems with the compter last week, so we did a system restore and have now lost the norton antvirus, we have the desktop icons but no programme...

hi freyapaige when you do system restore..........what it does is restore the drivers ect back to that date, it will not erase anything you have created as in files and documents however once you do a restore, any programs you have to put on the computer since that date will not function so if nortons was one of these programs you are going to have to re-install it, or go back to the restore function and choose undo the last the restoration. the first solution is the best re-install the nortons.

My Norton Security System independently decides to run its security scans automatically around 8pm most every night. I run an eBay business and this is PRIME TIME for me. It's putting me out-of-business....

1 Start Norton AntiVirus. If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks, then start that program. 3 Click Configure a Scan, and then click Schedule Full System Scan. 4 Fill in the Schedule Task, Start time, and Schedule Task yourtask fields. 5 Click OK.Hope it can help you.

Gateway laptop problem has been detected and Windows keep shuting down to prevent damage to computer. What shall I do? Norton has currently been added.

start your computer in safe mode.

Click start, run, type 'msconfig' in the box without the commas and click 'OK'

a system configuration utility window pops open. Click on the tab at the top in the middle that says 'boot.ini' and put a mark by safeboot. Drop down and click apply, move left and click close. Restart the computer, you will come up in safemode. If you dont get the same problem, is probably norton, norton wont start in safemode unless its the corporate edition.

to get back to regular mode, click start again, click on run, type msconfig and click ok. The system configuration utility window pops back open. Click the boot.ini tab and unmark safeboot. Drop down and click apply, move left and click close. Restart the computer. It will come back up in regular mode.

a work around if it is norton would be to remove norton and try AVG antivirus, is free

it problem persists, then it wasnt norton. Norton needs quite a bit of memory to run. If you dont have at least 512 mb in your system (more if your video card uses part of it), then you going to have problems.

Computer said norton virus had expired then computer went into hibernation and now will not restart

Try to restart the computer in safe mode or safe mode with networking. Go to control panel, add or remove programs (or programs and features if its vista), and try to remove norton antivirus completely. If that does not work, and you are in safe mode with networking, download the norton removal tool from the internet and run that to remove the norton antivirus completely. Your computer should be able to boot to the normal window, you can downlaod the norton antivirus latest version from the norton website or purchase the norton antivirus disc from any store. All the best.

Need to put Norton back on computer

it sounds like you should call back the person that you were talking on the phone if your numbers won't work, if they were helping install it, then they should be able to help you with any other problems, if you need the number I can find it for you but I need to know if it was norton or some other company or what otherwise look up your recent calls if you can
