I have just returned from holiday and tried to transfer my photos from my F470 to my PC. The transfer was about half done when a message appeared saying that the picture could not be copied and offering retry, cancel and skip options. I chose skip, and it repeated the message for the same photo. I canceled and ended the copying process. The camera then powered down. When I tried to turn it back on, the digital screen briefly turned gray and then turned off again. It now refuses to even do this and is completely unresponsive. Can you offer any advice or assistance?

Re: Can't access pictures or turn on camera
Hello, if the batteries where not fully charged when you where copying pictures to PC, the camera may have corrupted the pictures on the xD card. That is why the camera is showig a grey picture and turning off, it can't work without a valid picture card. A vey good way to restore the pictures on the card is to buy a card reader (they are unexpensive) that can handle xD cards and use a picture restore software.
For the restoration proccess, read the following page:

Here are a couple of things that might be wrong. Your camera comes with what is called "internal memory" This is where your pictures will be stored if you don't have a XD card. One of the reasons your camera might be blinking is because that internal memory is full. If you don't have a XD card inserted in the slot that may be your problem. I would get your manual out and look up on how to transfer your photos from your camera to your computer or how to deleat them. I found this information on page 25 of the user manual for your camera. Page 31 shows how to erase the images. Hope this helps.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
Try formatting the card in the camera using the setting in the camera's menu.
Some makes of xd or sd cards do not work correctly in fuji camera's. Sometimes even formatting them in the camera does not have any effect.
