I have checked the system settings of the psp and: We have sony firmware 5.01 Model of PSP is PSP-2001. I have my brother in law helping me as he has more technological knoweldge and he said it looks like this Pandora Battery is going to be quite tricky so was wondering if you could provide us with a complete breakdown on how we are to do it, otherwise he is worried that we are not going to be able to do it, and will still be in the same position as we're in now. I appreciate all your help, wait to hear from you, day_lj

listen do you know custome firmware??? if you dont then what that means is that you will stay at a certain firmware BUT special firmware that lets you play games from your memory card!!! instead of using your umd and ORiginal firmware cant play the games from the memory card HOW to know if your psp is custome firmware well go to system settings and check on system information if it says 5.00M33-4 its custome any that has M or GEN is custome if it does not say anything your psp is original..NOTE you cannot have custome firmware on a psp 3000 or 3001 it will only work on 1000's 1001's 2000's 2001's how to check that?? look ont he bottom of your psp it says a serial number than it should say psp1001 or 2001 but if it says 3000 or 3001 it WILL NOT WORK anyways you can connect to the internet by your psp and update from the network ORRR download the latest firmware from your computer lets say 6.20 download put it in a folder called UPDATE with all capitals and put it in game you will now have the updated version on your memory stick. and you can boot it from there go to dthe playstation .com and they probably have it there.RATTEEE!!
PSP Custom Firmware 6.35 PRO-B4 has been release by Virtousflame (a.k.a liquidzigong) and coldbird. The latest release includes a few bugs fixes for better stability and compatibility for all model PSP System (PSP 1000, 2000, 3000 and PSP GO - N-Series) .
This CFw has works on Sony firmware (OFw) 6.35 to lets users play backup UMD's - ISO games, so if you're already on OFw 6.35, you can either use this, If it doesn't, you will need to update your PSP firmware to 6.35.
PSP-300x or PSP-200x TA-088v3 or PSP GO has Sony Firmware '6.35' installed. other firmware is not supported. If you don't have PSP 6.35 installed, you need to update it.
Version check: On the PSP Menu (also known as XMB= Xross Media Bar), and goto 'Settings Menu' >> 'System Settings' >> 'System Information' and you should see firmware version of your PSP.
An Memory Stick at least 32mb for OFw update & CFw 6.35PRO-B4, ( Internal storage for PSP GO ).
Installation Instructions : Note: This software is free, and comes with no warranty, it has been tested and it has work, however I am not responsible for any bricked, so please try this at your own risk!. If you're afraid of risk of brick, don't try to downgrade. Read more...
psp 3006 is the model of your psp and firmware like is the operating system the psp runs
original firmware is considered firmware that came with the psp.
you can update with official firmware and you can also install custom firmware
hope this helped you!
Earlier you have said that you were able to play games from memory stick and since you updated your psp firmware the didn't worked.
First Check your current firmware version . To do this go to
Settings > System Settings > System Information on your PSP . If you your version showing for example 5.00 M33 you are still in Custom firmware. In this case you should able to play the games from memory stick. or else you memory stick is back... or you custom settings are wrong.
If its showing for example 5.00 you are with Sony's official firmware. In this case you wont be able to play the games from memory stick. From here to make your PSP play the games from memory stick you need to Downgrade your PSP. Only way to make this possible is through Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick.
So please check your version and let me know so i can guide you further. Also tell me whether your PSP is PHAT or SLIM & LITE..... or check the version of your PSP by removing the battery. Underneth it find some letters and numbers PSP-100x / PSP-200x / PSP-300x
If so, your PSP probably runs on an Official Firmware of Sony...to check if it is an official firmware, just go to your XMB>SYSTEM>SYSTEM INFORMATION, then check your System Software...if your System software has the M33-2 suffix, it is a Custom firmware and it should be able to run games on your Memcard...then if it DOESN'T HAVE a M33 Suffix, therefore, I'm sorry to say that iit is an OFFICIAL Sony Firmware and IT CANNOT run games on your memory card...the only way to fix that is you should have it modded/downgraded and then upgraded to a custom Firmware...
yeah, if your PSP is not Modded and it is running on official firmware of SONY, then you should prolly have it modded or have it made into custom firmware...If you don't know how to check the what firmware version your PSP is running...then here is how: open your PSP, then on the XMB, got SYSTEM SETTINGS then to SYSTEM information. on the top it says SYSTEM SOFTWARE, then check if your firmware version has a m33 suffix...if it doesnt have an m33 at the end, then it is an OFFICIAL firmware so have it modded, my friend...
