You might try running a cleaning CD in it (which cleans the lazer lens). These are available from Wal Mart and many other sources. If a cleaning doesn't get it going, then you may have a lazer that is weakening and might need to be replaced (sorry!). Hope just a good lens cleaning will do the trick.

SOURCE: buzzing noise

There was a possible solution to a buzzing problem posted on here earlier. Mine buzzes, whirs and whines because of a defective cooling fan. No solution other than to spend $150 to fix or buy a new system for the same price (NOT RCA).

I had the same problem with mine and the fix for it was to replace the Q401 transistor on the main board. I used a NTE382
replacement and has worked fine ever since.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: RCA RP-9515 stereo, CD player won't play

RD probably stands for "Reading Disc" and ND probably stands for "No Disc". If the CD player doesn't recognize any discs, then either the laser is dead or the motor has died. MOst likely you will have to replace the unit.

How to connect speakers to RCA model #RP-8070D

This unit is just a 5 disc CD player and cannot drive large speakers all by itself. Normally it is hooked up to a stereo receiver / amplifier which is what provides the power to drive the speakers which are wired to the back of the stereo amplifier.

If you have a home stereo, then just run the cables from the 2 AUDIO OUT connectors on the back of your CD player to the CD IN connectors on the back of your stereo.

Then turn your stereo on and select CD on your stereo input mode selector and you should be able to play the cds on your RCA and hear them through the stereo speakers.

If you do not have a stereo amplifier with speakers to connect it to, then you can always listen to it through headphones connected to the headphone jack.

Or if you have a set of self powered amplified speakers, like the kind you hook up to a computer, then you can run the AUDIO OUT cable from your cd player into those as well.

Good luck.

I have a cd stuck in my car stereo and i tried pulling the fuse, that did not work, it does not even read that there is a disc in the stereo, i cannot find the pin hole to use the paperclip with? do i have...

Had a CD stuck in my Lexus for a year. Got my battery replaced and voila - the next time I turned on the CD player, the long lost stuck CD popped right out!! Must have been one of those reset features where you ahve to totally disconnect power from a component to alloww it to reset. Worth a try anyway.

Not reading CD

The optical CD reading mechanism needs to be changed, take it to a repair center. These parts are not user-replaceable.

HOOK UP

Hi there!

If using an RF Converter you will have to tune whatever you connect to it onto UHF Bandwidth until it locks. You would tune it like you would tune any other station. So as an example tune a tv station onto CH1 and the DVD onto CH2 etc. Regards and good luck. JUS004

No Disc error, won't read any CD

rca does not sell just the laser it sells the base assy. it consistos of the laser & the spindle motor on the metal base. no circuit boards, thoes you will need to remove off of the old one. the list price from rca is $136.10 CDN. replacing the part is not too hard, but take a little time. good luck.
