Try some. I run it in mine. You might like it, you might not, but it shouldn't harm the unit.

How do u convert from kerosene to diesel

there may be possible ways out there to do the conversion but it may put you and your loved ones in jeopardy. kerosene and diesel fuel have different thermal characteristic during the burning process so the heater designed to run on kerosene may not be capable of handling the burning characteristics of diesel fuel. This may lead to unwanted fire incidents and loss of lives. Best is to purchase heater made for diesel fuel.

Will heater run on diesel?Heater will not start soon as power turned on and will not stay running.Red light starts blinking.

It MIGHT run on diesel but it will be a smokey affair. They are made to run on filtered kerosene which is a lot cleaner. Using diesel fuel will also hog it up very quickly.

Been running #2 diesel and does fine. Now it wont ignite! Bad fuel? How do I clean from system?

Your current purchase of fuel may have water in it. Go to an auto parts store and get a dryer/stabilizer for diesel fuel. That may temporarily solve your problem. I'd empty the heater tank and only fill with the treated fuel. The next time you buy diesel, go to someplace that sells to tractor trailer drivers. That way, you'll know the fuel hasn't set in the storage tanks that long.

Hope that helps solve your problem.

Can i run diesel fuel in my m50a reddy heater

Yes you can run Diesel in this heater but you will have to turn the pressure up on the back of the pump.
You want the nose cone to be a good glowing orange and with Diesel you may need more air pressure to achieve the proper burning of the heater with the least amount of fumes.

Thanks

Can you use diesel instead of kerosene in ready heaters?

No - diesel fuel is NOT the same as kerosene. Kerosene is #1, regular diesel is #2. They are not interchangeable.

Grade of fuel required for DESA heater

Dave you can use all three types that you have listed.

The pump is typically set for Number 2/ Diesel Fuel and if you run Kerosene the unit will run a little bit hotter but with a 3E359B you will typically run diesel due to the amount it will use and the increased cost of kerosene over diesel fuel.

Number 1 is similar to kerosene and is the fraction that boils off right after gasoline.
Number 2 is the diesel fuel that trucks and some cars run on, leading to the name "road diesel". It is the same thing as heating oil.
