I have a sbg900 surfboard router. when i go to the setup page to change my password and to add firewalls the user id "admin" and password "motorola" does not work. even after resetting thr router through the pinghole in the back, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had this problem just last night. I held down the reset button for 20-30 seconds. It worked when after pressing teh button the LEDs stayed on and then after the 20-30 seconds they started to blink indicating the reset. If they do not start reset while holding down the reset, let go and the modem should reset itself. It took me a few times to get this right since teh reset button is rather sensitive and a momentary depression/release will resutl ina reset of the modem but not to default password. I found out I was inadvertantly doing this momentary reset due to teh sensitivity of the switch.
Anyway, next make sure you type "admin" and "motorola" in all lower case. I was using Admin and Motorola - no good.

Press the reset button on the rear panel. Resetting may take 5 to 30 minutes
Try the login again, if that fail try from a different browser.

first you need to connect a cable between a PC and your router. Next she can need to log into the router using a browser. The routers should ask you for a login and password. the default password for your router is motorola. The user ID is admin. I have attached a link to the manual for your router. Page 71 of the manual will explain how to set up your wireless password/passphrase. That is the security code being asked for. Use the same passphrase with your PC when asked.
The link is: http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/products/SBG900/downloads/SBG900_User_Guide.pdf
If this sounds your problem please leave feedback otherwise send me more information about what you tried in how worked out.
Is there any computer connected to the router? If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router and the access the router setup and you will find the password there if you don't know the password to access the router then you will need to reset the router and reconfigure the router. Click Here for more info
Ok in the back of this unit or bottom there is a reset button or hole that you need a pin needle to access. Press it in for 15sec and let it reboot. Once it reboots, open a web page and type in 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1 This will bring up a log in page. The login is admin and the password is motorola.
1. Log into the router with your browser by entering 192,168.0.1 into the URL bar near the top of the screen. 2. Type admin in the user field 3. Type motorola into the password field.
This will get you into the router setup.
Go to the wireless tab and setup WEP encryption. Write down everything you do, because you'll need ti later if you don't remember it.
Once setup, you'll need to setup any wireless computers that you want to hook to the router.
Here's a link to the router manual. If you go through it page by page, starting at page 22, then you should be OK. Key things to setup are WEP encryption. A lot of the other stuff, you don't have to worry with. And, you can change the login user name and password, which is highly recommended.
Hi there.. i had that problem too and i just solved it... heres the thing.. first you go into the router setup page.. which is.. 192.168.100.1 go to the gateway tab go to port forwarding tab go to config thenTemplate --> custom Name--> whatever Port start--> 88 Port end-->88 LAN IP address--> check on your xbox on network settings and copy the same ip address. Enable --> checked Then click add. After that.. you will do the same thing but on the port option you will put 3074. add it ..
