For the sensor problem, I would I would suggest a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If it still does not work, you may have a bad sensor or door switch.

Here is some info on checking door switches: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/doorsw.txt

Buttons not working on 900 watt microwave, it's only a month old. How do I fix or must I return to store?

May i ask , is this a GE?
Have you un-plugged it and plugged it back in? You can try this to see if it needs re-setting.
I don't know how mechanically inclined you are but if you comfortable with this idea you can take the touch-pad off yourself and inspect the ribbon cables that supply power to the touch-pad. These ribbon cables work slightly loose sometimes and all they need is to be re-seated back into their connector which is pretty simple to accomplish.
There should be 2 screws or maybe 3 on the top (front) panel of the microwave. Remove these then once the panel is removed you can access the 1 or 2 screws (1 Usually) that holds the touch-pad in place. Remove this screw and lift the touch-pad up and out. Remove all wires from their connectors and don't worry about , if you can replace them to their correct connectors , many times the connectors are all different and can only accept 1 wire when re-installing.
Inspect your ribbon cables and their connection. I would even disconnect them and re-connect just in case there is a faulty connection.
Sometimes the ribbon cables need to be removed and clean the connections with alcohol but in your case you have a new microwave so i don't see dirt or debris being an issue.
Of course , unplug the unit from the wall if you decide to take on this task.
If this doesn't work i would return the microwave. If your like me i like to inspect things and take on new tasks sometimes just to try and fix things to have something new under my belt. Anyways i hope this is helpful and good luck.

How do i get into door to replace spring smh9207st microwave ?

You must remove & disassemble the door (I know, duh! :) ).

DISCLOSURE--I haven't replaced the spring, BUT, I did disassemble the door to get at the display board and in so doing, did see the spring/latch assembly. So, I can help with getting the door apart, but not the replacement of the spring itself, but from the looks of it, is should be pretty easy.

Total time: 1 -2 hours, 4 ice teas and lunch.

1. UNPLUG THE UNIT.
2. Remove the grill atop the unit; 2 phillips screws. Gently slide the grill to the left to unhook it from the unit. This reveals the screw holding the right side cover.
3. There are wires connecting the door to the MV. Reach inside and find the connector; it will separate with some squeezing.
4. The door will come off easily by lifting up at the hinge (be careful: there are cheap plastic parts around here).
WORK ON A SOMETHING SOFT TO PREVENT SCRATCHING THE FINISH.
5. Lay the door upside down. Remove the screws holding the handle on.

There are 2 plastic pieces between the metal handle and the door glass. They will probably fall to pieces when you take the handle off. Yes...this is the quality of plastic manufacturers use. PRESERVE THESE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, EVEN IF THEY ARE BROKEN. If you need to replace them, they are probably available and cheap. Or not...so try and keep them,

Now the door can lay flat.

6. Now you have to get the plastic trip out. Some suggest a thin putty knife, or similar. Get it in-between the trim and the metal on the inside edge of the trim and the plastic of the door on the other side; there are simple tabs that hold it in. You're just gonna have to carefully feel around until you get an edge up. Then another. Once you get it going you'll be OK.

Once the trim is off, you should be able to get to the spring and do the replacement. If not, you may need to remove an additional piece of the inner door, held on by 4 screws and tabs you need to pry at with putty knife/flat screw driver. It was some hard work getting it off without breaking bending stuff and required some finger strength and stuff to prop it open on one edge while I worked on another.

Give the parts a good cleaning. Reassemble in reverse.

Cleaning tip: Scrubbing bubbles works great for cleaning icky kitchen grease, although it can leave a film (but it gets the grease!). Follow up with windex (but use a windex-dampened paper towel on plastic to prevent scratching)

Samsung Microwave SMH9187 error message (?) 5E

You can do this without removing unit from wall. First unplug unit. Next remove the two screws on the top of the unit closest to the front. These screws simply keep the up facing vent in place. Next slide the vent to the left (plastic latches on bottom hold in place) to allow vent to be removed. You should now see a single screw above the control panel. Remove it then open the microwave door. Gently slide the control panel up which will disengage the plastic latches on the panel sides. Suggest if you are going to remove the controller and replace take a picture before removing it so you know exactly how to reconnect all the wires.

I have chefmate microwave and suddenly stopped working. it is showing 2:50 code on the screen only...it was working fine and dont know what happened to it and touch pad is not working..how do i make it...

HELLO.

The code on the screen indicate electric panel fault resulting from the touchpad malfunction.

The touch pad on your microwave oven acts as the brain of the appliance. It not only contains the buttons that you use to enter cooking settings and times, but also controls the function of the entire microwave. If the touch pad malfunctions or breaks completely, the microwave will cease to function. In this instance, the broken touch pad must be removed and a new touch pad must be installed, to restore functionality to the microwave.

1 Unplug the microwave from the wall outlet.
2 Remove the two screws, located on the front or top of the grill at the top of the microwave.
3 Pull the grill off of the microwave.
4 Remove the mounting screw from the top of the control panel.
5 Lift the control panel up and out to loosen. Look behind the control panel to ensure there are no metal tabs securing the control panel in place. If there are metal tabs, gently rotate the control panel to free the tabs.
6 Transfer the wires from the old control panel to the new control panel one at a time to ensure that the wires are properly installed.
7 Install the new control panel into the microwave and secure using the mounting screw that was removed.
8 Replace the grill from the top of the microwave and secure it using the screws that were removed.
9 Plug the microwave back into the wall outlet.
Thanks.

Starts on own F2 appears

Hi,

Unplug the oven for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it on.If the problem persists, you need to replace keypad. This is a quite easy repair. You would take the grill off along the top over the door. Once off you should see the screws holding the control panel in place. Remove these screws and remove the control panel. You will now have access to replace the part. Please be aware that the unit stores lethal voltage even when unplugged.

F2 means the touch pad has failed, the manufacturer recommends you replace the touch pad and if this fails to clear the problem replace the control board. The manufacturer recommends this but the problem normally relates to the touch pad. The control board sits just behind the touch pad so is accessible by removing the control panel.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

On the touch pad numbers 3, 6, 7 and 0 dont work

sounds like the touch pad control has failed ... there is a touch pad on this unit and also a control board located behind units touch pad... you can gain access to this by unplugging unit and removing console that houses touch pad /clock assembly ... once removed the only test there really is to do would be with power off remove ribbon cable to touch pad and make sure clear of any dust /debri and reconnect there are 2 small holes in ribbon cable that are used when reconnected fir into small slots and firmly connect... if that doesnt fix i would recommend a new touch pad... not sure what area your located... there is a distributor for sharp in dallas ,texas called
global micro parts... reputable company that if you give them your model number they can assist you with the part.... good luck to you

HI. Kindly, unplug the unit for five minutes. this will drain all power, and reset the main board. Once the five minutes have passed, simply plug the unit back into the power outlet. If the error continues, the touch pad should be replaced asap.

Key Pad only works on some numbers. Others do not respond when pushed

Unplug the unit. Generally, remove the screws inside the door that hold on the faceplate. Inside, it will become rather obvious how to detach the keypad from the main circuit board. Note that some of the screws are longer than others. Carefully unplug the wire loom from the board. Note that these plugs have a small movable section. Flush to the board is lock...up is unlocked. Make sure when you push the loom in that the section is up...then push it down. By the way...before you buy a new part, unplug each connection related to the key panel and reinstall. It may just fix it.

First guess: thermosensor. This is a black item the size of a dime and 3/8 inch thick located on the wall of the oven inside the pad area. Test for continuity. There may be more than one fuse involved. Some of these units have weak relays (tell me about it!). You can replace the heat relay with a 12 automotive relay if you're good...if not, you'll have to replace the board.

I did two relays...and then needed a new board for other reasons on my own unit. Rebuilt boards are available online.

Error code of F-3.

F3H —Humidity Sensor Failure: Refer to the Tech Sheet and test the sensor.
The microwave oven may be provided with a self diagnostic routine that can be operated through the touch pad keyboard. To enter the self-diagnostic routine:
1.While pressing the CANCEL keypad:
a) Open the oven door.
b) Unplug the microwave oven for 2-seconds and plug it back in.
c) Release the CANCEL keypad and close the oven door. You will see the following display.
CHART
NOTE: The humidity sensor test results will appear on the display after 8-seconds.If the tests are successful, "OK " will be displayed. If one or more of the tests fail, "ERR " will be displayed.. 2.When a keypad is pressed, a number according to the test chart will be displayed. When no keypad is pressed, a blank "—" is displayed.
If you want to try to fix it your self, Always remember Electricity is dangerous and should be treated with respect.
Microwaves are very dangerous, they can still shock you even unplugged!!
Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it. With the microwave unplugged.
If my attachment made it, it shows a common way to do this....
Good Luck!
