Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Open Question

Active life mat not recognized by wii console

I followed the directions and plugged the mat into the #1 slot on the top of the console while the power was off. I turned the power on using the button on the console. When the safety warning comes up asking me to press A, I can't get past that without pressing A on a remote.

The console then recognizes that Wiimote as the #1 controller, so when the game loads, it says the mat is not connected. How can I press A on the mat to get passed the safety warning or otherwise get the console to recognize the mat?

You need to open the small compartment on the front (located between reset and eject) were your can insert a sd card. Above the slot will be a red button labled sync. Press(maybee hold) the button and press the 1 and 2 buttons on the remote. This should get your remote working with your wii.

How do I connect the mat to the Wii™?

If your Wii™ is standing upright with the power button facing you at the top left, the top skinny side of the Wii™ that points up towards the ceiling contains the flaps. Lift the flap up, like how you would open a book, on the top of the console. You will find the ports under this flap. Plug your mat into the port that is the closest to where you would stick in the disc.
If your Wii™is laying flat horizontal, with the disc slot going left and right, and the power button facing you at the bottom left corner, the left skinny side of the Wii™that faces towards the left contains the flaps. Flip the flap down towards the left and you should see the 4 ports. Plug your dance mat into the port that is closest to the front of your Wii™ where you would stick in the disc.
Other steps to make sure you have tried:
Make sure that your Wii™ is turned off before plugging in your mat.
Also, make sure the connection is secure to your console.
Then with the game in the Wii™, turn on your console.
The mat should be recognized at that point.

Bought dancing stage game for nintendo wii - do not know where to connect the dance mat

Hello. If you have the correct version (people have bought the ps2 version before on accident) here are the directions.

With the console stood upright (with the power button facing you at the top left),
lift the flap on the top of the console. You will find the ports under this flap. Plug your mat into Port #1.

Make sure that your Wii is turned off before plugging in your mat.
Also, make sure the connection is secure to your console.
Then with the game in the Wii, turn on your console.
The mat should be recognized at that point.

I hope this helps!! Good luck and happy gaming!!

Dance mat

The only controllers that plug directly into the Wii console are GameCube controllers (and USB keyboard for messaging and Internet Channel).

Everything else plugs into the Wii Remote.
