There are a lot of questions about this, without any answers! So I guess the answer is 'No'
It seems you would need to install both versions P6 and P3 on Win 8 then export P3 files to P6 to run, but even that isn't easy.
You could get your administrator to give you rights to export or since that isnt likely you can bring up all of your columns copy and paste to a excel file that was created from P3. It's messy and you'll loose all your logic ties, but it's the only way I've every beaten the man.
Select all the activities you would like to Edit (All or Portions)
'right click' in that menu there is an option that says Renumber activity ID's select that and choose the new prefix/suffix/Identifier and P6 will renumber them all in sequence. I use 3 letters as my prefix for smart coded IDs example (DCS1000) or (DCS-1000) for the DCS system. Visually easier to see and can be used as a filter point (Act ID Contains DCS) anyway I hope this helps...
