Sp2 on dual core cpu

I have a problem using sp2 on dual core cpu. sp2 never runs after i install it to my pc so i use sp1 instead of sp2 but when i use it on single core cpu, sp2 can run. i have to install first the sp1 to my dual core cpu then upgrade it to sp2 in order to change my os to sp2. is there a way i can directly use sp2 without having to install sp1 first? thank you..

windows 8 uses a different bios to windows 7

you may have to change the bios settings to use UEFI to get windows 8.1 to work if the p.c has the capability to run in uefi mode

Windows service pack 3 for Windows7

Hi,
there is no such thing as "service pack 3 for Windows 7".

Windows Xp - sp1, sp2, sp3

Windows Vista - sp1, sp2

Windows 7 - sp1

Windows 8 - 8.1

Could you please tell me that you haven't installed the customization pack & that you have Windows 7?

What app were you trying to install?

MISSING MS OFFICE AFTER UPDATING XP SP1 TO XP2

Hi, Look in your program files. R/click computer, R/click Local disc. Then right click program files. If the folder is there open it, reinstall office.
You can also go to search, type in ms office and see if the file is still installed.
If the file is gone you will have to reinstall using a ms office disc.

Vista SP2

I want to stop you there. You should stick with Windows Vista SP1 because Sp2 has A LOT of program incapability problems (e.g. some games will not work in SP2, but work fine in SP1). Hope I helped - donman92

you dont need the windows sp2 disk. all you need to do is go to:

there you can download windows sp2. this way you will not loose anything. this is the safest way.

Product key

The product key has to match the CD. In other words, an OEM XP sticker found on a computer case requires an OEM XP CD with the same Service Pack level and version. An Upgrade CD won't work with an OEM serial #. OEM Home SP1 Sticker = OEM Home SP1 CD OEM Professional SP2 Sticker = OEM Professional SP2 CD Yes, it can be a pain getting the two to match up since most of the stickers I've seen do not indicate whether they are SP1 or SP2.
