Question about Sony MZ-M100 Personal MiniDisc Player
I just got this unit. It works fine on AC adapter, and with accessory AA battery pack, but I have no power at all with correctly installed good Sony NH-14WM battery!? I tried cleaning using contact cleaner on a cotton swab but still nothing. Any help? Thanks.
Hi- I think you might have a defective battery, or a problem with the battery compartment inside the case if you don't show a charge when the set is plugged into the AC adapter. I do repairs on minidisc recorders so if you would like further information, email me at: email@example.com.

Tips for a great answer:

1* Remove unit and all packing materials from the carton. You should save packing
materials in case unit needs to be returned for service. If you do not wish to save the
materials, please dispose of them properly.
2* Place the unit on a stable, level surface, close to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight,
and away from sources of dust, dirt, heat, water, moisture, vibration, or magnetic fields.
3* After installing the batteries (see below) and reading the Maintenance notes, plug the
AC cord into an outlet.
"Sure Alarm" Battery Backup Installation
It is strongly recommended that 2 "AA" batteries be installed into the unit, as directed below,
in order to activate this product's "Sure Alarm" Battery Backup feature. (The model should
come with two batteries already installed.) In the event that the AC power cord is disconnected
or a power failure or other interruption occurs, the "Sure Alarm" Battery Backup will maintain
clock and alarm settings for the life of the battery, ensuring that the alarm (buzzer only) will
sound at the set time. During any interruptions the time and alarm settings will be saved
and automatically restored when AC power is again active.
1* Gently turn the unit over and remove the battery
2. Install 2 "AA" batteries (alkaline is recommended for
longer life), while making sure that the + and - ends
match up with those inside the battery compartment.
3* Slide the battery compartment door back on, making
sure the door locks into place, and gently return the
unit to its upright position.
