1st if the memory card is from a differnt phone from a differnt retailer it wont register the memory... also i know they say dont do this but it worked for me... get a paper towel wet and rub the sensor bars on the sd card (the little gold metal parts) then while it is still the tineyes bit wet insert it back into your phone or computer (this also works with ds game cartidges)
try to format it using your computer. Connect the card with computer using a card reader Then go to my computer right-click the micro sd-card and select format. Format it using FAT.

The official retail package of the LG KE970 Shine does not come with a memory card (since it has built in 1GB of memory). If you bought some special package that does include the memory card, it should come in a small plastic bag or box along with a microSD to SD adapter. Also check in the memory slot of the phone itself.
