Laguna 7000 pond pumps stopped pumping

I have 2 laguna 7000 pond pumps that stopped operating about two months apart. I disassembled them and cleaned them and reassembled them. They both would start for a few revolutions and then quit. I ordered new impellers that arrived yesterday. I reassembled one pump with much the same results as discribed above. I then reassembled pump two with the new impeller and had much the same results. The pumps have been maintained and showed no indication of anything with the exception of a few rough spots inside the cylinder cavity that houses the impellers. Is there a fix for this/

No, once this inside of the cylinder cavity is scored it's toast, the only hope is that it is still under warranty.

After thoroughly cleaning, including removing impellor, water flow all but stops after several hours and then the pump shuts down completely.

It almost sounds as if the thermal load protection fault is being tripped on the pump. When the pump kicks off is the housing extremely warm? If so you may need to replace the pump.

Laguna water garden pump just quit working

Possible causes: Electrical or Mechanical. For Electrical - Check to make sure power is coming to the outlet/cord it is plugged into. If there is a GFCI on the circuit, make sure it is reset.
Mechanical: If something got sucked into the pump it may have caused the impeller to stop and/or the pump to overheat. Some models have an thermal override that will shut the pump off if it overheats. If it is a magnetic drive pump, the impeller can probably be saved, if it is a direct drive, it may have gotten damaged by the jam. Unplug the pump and carefully disassemble the portion where the water goes in to determine if something got sucked into the impeller mechanism.

Max Pro 1500 motor starts but then stops within 10 seconds. Does not run continuously. Cleaned inside and put back together but problem still continued.

Your problem is the thermal switch is tripping off. this means there is some supply or voltage problem. Most likely fix is replacing the capacitor.

Half pumping flow

Check to make sure all fittings are tight and no air is entering the lines, I know sounds like a no brainer.

Clearflo 8000 system, can I reduce the flow as pressure is too great for waterfall feature

You can reduce the flow using a ball valve on the outlet side of your pump. This is good for limiting the flow up to about 20% without adding too much strain on your pump. If you need to reduce it more use a Tee fitting and attach a second ball valve to the return just before the first valve to return water to your sump and prevent over pressurization of the pump. Please excuse the crudeness of the diagram.

Aerate a pond

I live near Memphis TN so don't have that pesky "frozen water" problem. However, I do aerate my 2,500 gal goldfish pond with a Oase Biosys Skimmer (free standing/ floating skimmer) which is powered by a Laguna fountain pump. I attached a small pipe on the discharge end of the pump & set the pump so that this pipe is a few inches below the water's surface. The discharge provides a small fountain effect that keeps the surface moving while aerating the water. The skimmer keeps the leaves / debris off the top of the water the pump keeps the water moving...and moving water will not freeze. Hope this helps
