Profiling requires 4mb of free space - RCA TH1500 MP3 Player

  • Anonymous May 11, 2012

Found the solution to my problem.
I use Linux, so what I did was go to the folder of the MP3 device and hit Ctrl+H which brought up a folder called trash. It still had all the songs I had previously deleted so it was taking up the space.
If you can figure out how to do that on Windows you should get it fixed. Hope this helped anyone that has had this problem.

SOURCE: not working properly

The same thing happened to mine... The firmware is probably corrupted. Go to RCA's website (http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/select.aspx?u=downloads) and download the firmware update for the model that you have. You'll most likely have to choose the "reformat" option (which will erase all of your music) to get it to work, but you can try doing it without it first. When I did it, I had to totally reformat, though... Good luck!

1. Disconnect the player.

2. Download the new driver from http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/

3. Install the software on your computer, then run it.

4. Reset your player by either pressing the reset button or removing the AA-battery from the player.

5. While holding down the "Play" key on your player, connect it to the PC via the USB cable. Release the "Play" key when you see the progress bar moving and "initializing" text. If you cannot see the "initializing" text, please disconnect your player and try again.

6. Click the "Start" button to upgrade your player

Profiling requires 4mb free space

Straiten the end of a paperclip and push it into the reset hole on the back. When you turn it on, it should operate as normal without any data loss.

Profiling requires 4mb free space

Found a small pinhole on the back of the device. In small lettering it says reset. Carefully insert a pin and light push when you feel it's hit a dead end. It resets the issue and you can resume using your device. Leave it up to a girl to find that and figure it out. lol
