The same thing happened to me! I am so angry. I only had this computer for about 4 months!!! I am taking online classes so I need my laptop. I called Gateway Technical support and the stupid rep is telling me to go rent a computer or go to the library. She instructed me to turn the machine off and on, remove the cord battery, and nothing worked. I never spilled anything on it or dropped it. They want me to send the computer in (I am responsible for the shipping). They said they may have to delete all of the information stored on it so I have to take it and have the data transferred (I have to pay for that as well).

I really want to avoid sending the computer in if there's a simple soultion.

    From Skillz,

For "1 Other User Has The Same Problem"... you can transfer your data externally as long as your HD is still stable and runs DOS.... there is a 12-20$ USB -to-parellel converter cable...it attaches to your HD externally using the pin connectors... try this before going to companies such as Dve svers and so forth..... google "USB IDE Adapter" if your drive is other than try "USB ___Adapter"

Recharageable batteries need to be kept charged and if left uncharged for a long period they most likely no longer work.
You need to replace these batteries.

Harmony 890 just went dead. Nothing. Nada. Not

I have an 890 also. I've found that the remote doesn't always charge when it the charger. I have to put a rubber band around it and make sure it shows that the the battery symbol on the display is showing that it charging. Or the battery isn't taking a charge anymore and I'd try to replace it. Doesn't really hold a charge very long either.

i would suggest to reset it by pressing the reset button with a toothpick.......i experienced the same problem sometimes, but in your case, my brother who also has one, left it frozen and it went dead after a couple of mins. we connected it to the charger then it worked........i hope it will work on you case.

Zen V is dead
"If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."

V3 dead but keypad flashing

I had exactly the same problem. After unsucessfully looking for a solution on the net I removed the simm chip and set it aside. The next day, I put it on PC usb charge and left it overnight. The next day, I powered it up and it worked. I turned it off and replaced the simm and it is now working fine. Go figure...
