Just print one and stop working monarch 9416

Hi, I installed in windows XP and the drivers seems to be OK, I print one for test and it did well but suddenly turn a red light and must be restarted to get work again.

Isolate : disconnect from the computer, turn it off - press and hold the paper feed button while turning it on releasing only once the unit starts printing.

if it passes without error, replace the cable or try another port if it's USB.

Printing failed



This is usually caused by corrupted printer drivers. It's most often seen after an upgrade from a previous operating system when the printer was kept connected and turned on during the upgrade.

Solution: Completely Uninstall and Reinstall your Printer and 'force' XP to see new drivers:

Step 1
Disconnect the printer from the PC

Step 2
Go to the Control Panel and click on Add/Remove Programs. Highlight any Printer Software that is listed here. Select Remove.

Step 3
From the Control Panel, click on Printers & Faxes. Right click the printer in question and select Delete

Step 4
Look at the Toolbar. Select File, then Server Properties. Look in the Drivers tab. Highlight the printers drivers listed here and click on Remove for each one.

Step 5
Reboot the PC. Do NOT reconnect the printer!

Step 6
Go to the website of your printer manufacturer. Look for new XP drivers for your model. Download the correct software. If there are no Windows XP drivers for your printer, try looking for ones for Windows 2000. In most cases these will do almost as well.

Step 7
Run the exe file you just downloaded. It should auto-start the installation program

Step 8
The software will tell you when to connect the printer.

Step 9
Once the software is installed and the printer connected, try a test page. Top printer service

I don't have the printer drivers. I have lost the original CD and I need to install the printer on another PC

I have a Monarch Paxar 9416 Printer and can't get it to align correctly to print. It comes out 3/4 of the way and errors out. It won't do the last advance to align correctly.


Sounds like you might either be using the wrong size supplies (wrong length compared to the data going to the printer), or you might not have the correct indexing set on the printer. If you choose a blackmark setting for the index (black mark on the back of the liner so that the printer can detect when to stop), but your printer is set to die cut (no black marks on the liner, only spaces between your labels), then the printer can become confused on where to stop. The same goes for the visa versa of these marks.

Lastly, if you are using a ribbon, or are supposed to use a ribbon, you might find that the printer isn't working because of a ribbon fault.

Just in case neither of these help, what software are you using to make the printer print? Maybe I can help further.

Seagull would likely have to provide the real help here, but it sounds like your Seagull drivers are not using the correct supply setting. If the supplies have a black mark on the back of the liner, then set your driver up as black mark. If they ONLY have a small gap between the labels, then set it up as die cut. If it has a die cut and a black mark, set them up as black mark.

It is also possible that your sensor is dirty, damaged, or covered up so that the printer cannot see the supplies. If you're not using Monarch/Paxar/Avery Dennison supplies, then the index mark (die cut or black mark) may not be to the printer's specification and it just doesn't know when to start and stop on a label.

You did not say whether this printer is the same as your others, if it is not then you will have to get the correct software driver for this particular printer.
