Yes I have the exact same issue. Even when I reset the program buttons the pump is still running. Anybody got any ideas??

Ok pssible solution is that there is water in the anti flood sensor area which keeps the pump running. How do i gain access to this sensor as there is no panel on the front of this machine & it is fully integrated

    Hi pete,

I believe we have different issues. My issue is where the pump keeps running when there is nothing to drain. I throw water in & it drains it away no problems there, but the the pump just keeps on running even after program reset.

As for your issue i believe these machines fill through mains pressure. Have you checked what pressure you are getting from the supply. This is easy to check just turn the valve off remove the supply hose & use a water pressure tester which is a piece of pipe with a gauge & tap on it.

Us too. The pump keeps going and I am sure its the flow switch that jammed. It happened after the drainers were blocked and i unblocked them using a plunger

I have the same problem - pump keeps running , but no water in machine - how do you access the flood area?

  • hot water Jan 08, 2009

my pump keeps running, but water I add to the dishwasher does get pumped out to the drain, so i guess there are no blockages. A repair man says, without looking inside the machine, that I need a new motor at £150 plus labour, but I dont see anyone has suggested this solution. I am worried that if I buy one and it doesnt fix the problem then I will have wasted my money-any advice please

Our Neff Dishwasher S5456X0 the pump was running all the time and the solution 1 worked. We removed the front panel under the door and the the flood camber was full of water. Drained it out with a sponge and the dishwasher is fine. Thanks

This solved the problem on our Neff Dishwasher also. All I did was to tip it backwards to drain out the water it it worked. ;-)

Hey people. I had this same problem with Dishlex dishwasher today. Pump kept running after cycle was finished and water emptied. Discovered the anti flood device was active. Removed bottom front panel. Removed galvanized access panel behind bottom front panel. Drained water from anti flood water collector using sponge. (It's a small flat open container with a styrene float and micro switch near the bottom of the cabinet directly under the chamber sump). Problem solved, no cost! Yey! This could also be accessed by removing the right hand side panel.

My NEFF S9W1F integrated dishwasher pump continued to run although no water was left in the drain sump. Subsequently, I carried out a repair myself and saved a fortune; here is how I repaired my machine.

After doing a bit of research on line, I found that the cause of the continued running of the drain pump was caused by the water leaking into the lower sump (normally dry) causing the a micro-switch to activate and trigger the drain pump to cut in and continue to run even after resetting the machine.

I removed the machine from under the unit, be carefull at this stage as the sump is full of water and this will spill out when the machine is moved (so be sure you have plenty of towels down to soak up the water). I got some help and lifted the machine into the garage and removed the two side panels, these are easily removed and I connect the machine to a water supply and ran the dishwasher and it was evident that the leak was from the circulation pump.

In order to replace the seals within this pump you will need to remove this pump from its location. To do this you will need to remove the metal strip that runs along the bottom of the main door and the two torx head screws that secure the upper section to the bottom sump on the right side, once this has been done pull the right side down just enough to get the pump out. You will also need to cut the metal securing hose clip that is on the outlet of the pump and also remove the three electrical connections, once you have done this the pump can be removed with a bit of force and manoeuvring.

The pump comes apart quite easily by clamping the motor in a vice and screwing the plastic pump body anti-clockwise this will then lift clear and expose the pump impellor you will need to remove this to gain access to the shaft seal, you can by a new seal kit for about £42 from here : http://www.espares.co.uk once you have replaced the two seals and impellor you can rebuild the pump and refit back into its location in the reverse order, I used petroleum jelly to help fitting the hoses and replaced the hose clip I had cut with a standard jubilee clip, once fully rebuilt refit under the unit and hang up the rubber gloves and give yourself a pat on the back.

Tools required: Torx heads, small socket set, new seal kit and jubilee clip, petroleum jelly.

Either:
  1. the water does not get into the dishwasher open the dishwasher 3-4 times during cycle, you should see some water at least once, if not - check water valve, water level float and water pressure.
  2. the pump is clogged - there is water, the motor will run but no water is circulated. Check pump filters, check chopper and impeller.
  3. motor in main pump is not working - could be caused by something stuck on the impeller or chopper or could be a problem with the motor itself or control board. Check if line voltage is coming to the motor during wash/rinse cycle.
Good luck,

Our Neff S5454x1/21 dishwasher has occasionally stopped/stuck

Looks like the heater unit has packed up.

I cannot seem to find the actual model you have anywhere on the internet. But I am assuming you connect the dishwasher to cold water inlet and it is meant to have a heater.

Are you in UK or Europe. Bosch also makes parts for the NEFF dishwasher but I am not able to find spare parts for your exact model.

Please post a comment.

Dishwasher not washing very well

usual reason is that the arms are not rotating freely - they only turn by water jetting out of angled jets. blockages are not always obvious as blockage material tends to go out of sight when water pressure off. favourite culprits are rice and sweet corn

Have you tried it on a different program? I have nearly always used the AUTO program - however i have used the 50 degree program 3 times now and it completes the (much longer) wash without sticking on one minute. Will try it on auto again to see what happens. I found it useful to turn the end-of-wash buzzer on (to loud) to remind me when (if) it completes the program.
