Question about Jandy Aqualink - Rs24 One Touch Pool / Spa Combination Control System

1 Answer

Laars LX heater has an error message on it that reads, ''EXT SW1''

How do I go about resolving this problem? I've been told that it could be my flue gas vent clogged, or the switch itself. Any general problems it might be before I go checking into all that?

SOURCE: where is the pressure switch located so i can replace it. lost my manual

open the lower front door, then up on underside of panel are two screws/hex head. Unscrew these two screws and the upper panel will slide down, may need a gentle nudge. Near the middle left your will recognize your pressure switch.....

SOURCE: 5 year old Laars 25,000 LX won't ignite.

The low pressure indicator is for the gas pressure not the water pressure. The heater won't ignite because it's not getting gas to the igniter. Check gas supply, if okay, check gas connections, valves, etc.

The 1 HP motor should be fine on the jacuzzi.

SOURCE: hi limit switch code

mine were corroded, but passed a continuity test. removing the corrosion opened a hole in one of the cases. $30/ea to replace (parts only). then i read how the brass 'screw' they contact with are prone to corrosion (salt pool), not listed in the parts manual, but are available as part# R0383200 (another $6/ea). not a happy jandy/laars/teledyne owner.

SOURCE: Hi Limit Switch error

this may be for two reasons first the water is going to slow make sure filter is clean and either the water inlet plump incorect or the valve assembly is damage and need to be replace the high limit is letting you know the temp is getting to hot inside the heat exchanger

SOURCE: my laars lx pool heater is blinking LOW PRESSURE.

The heater needs good water flow or it will overheat. You probally have a full basket in your pump or your filter is dirty.

If the unit is lighting then shutting off then repeating it isn't rectifying, means not sensing the flame. May have a bad flame sensor or ignition control. I'm guessing your AGS is indicated on the GUI also.

EXT SW1-FUSABLE LINK/VENT SWITCH OPEN ON JANDY POOL HEATER

Open up the front panel on the heater you will see 2 white wires going to the thermal fuse, pull both leads off the thermal fuse ,take a jumper wire and connect it between the two wires . Does the fan come on ? if so remove the jumper, if not put the leads back on the thermal fuse and remove the thermostat panel on the top of the heater on the right side there will be 2 screws on the bottom of the panel remove them and pull the panel up and out of the way as much as possible look inside to top right in about the middle of the heater you will see 2 white wires going to a switch (overheat switch) with a red button in the middle, push on that button and reset it, if the fan still does not come on take your jumper wire and put it between the 2 white wires on the overheat switch does the fan come on? If it does great but don't leave the jumper in , remove it and put in a new overheat switch ,but that only fixes the switch because there is still a problem of why that happened. First thing is to check the heat exchanger for soot build up or a blocked exhaust fan and check your gas pressure my guess is it is low. But do not run that heater with any bypass jumpers in or your asking for a fire .
