How to ''do it your self'' relamping instructions for a Viviteck TV

I'm on my 2nd bulb on my 56" Vivitreck Projection lamp > I also use it as my pc Monitor so I'm doing about 4+ years in a 1 1/2 years. 1st time I ordered the complete housing along with the bulb. Instaling was about 2 minute process. This time I just ordered the bulb and am trying to do it myself. Looks like big mistake so far. Wire clamp is all that holds it in BUT, how is it removed? Looks like special tool is required? Obviously I could just break old lamp though I'm told bad idea as possible mercury or other "bad stuff" insidde. I'd appreciate any suggestions as the $50.00 I saved looks like a big mistake. --Thanks in advance--------------------------------------------Bob

When we turn the TV on, a red light starts to blink but no image or sound is displayed. How can this be fixed?? And What is causing this? my TV model is HL-s5679w

The Blinking light is an error code, most likely you just need to replace the bulb which is fairly easy, there is an access panel on the back and you should be able to replace your self. A new bulb should include basic instructions here is a link price is $110

I have a samsung 56" pedestal DLP HLP5685, and it keeps turning off and on, on it's own. The bulb is only a few months old. Any suggestions?

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is BP9600677A you can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/Samsung-BP96-00677A-OEM-Replacement-LAMP-BULB-p/samsung-bp96-00677a-lamp-oem.htm?Click=48173.Have a blessed one!

Viviteck 56''in.HDTV DLP TV. replaced with a new lamp bulb since I replaced this the tv wont come on only the sound for about 5 seconds then tv is silent again. any tips, Please.

The first thing to check on any TV that has a replaceable lamp is to make sure the lamp door is back on and seated correctly. You also need to make sure that the lamp is seated all the way in. The lamp door and in most cases the lamps have saftey switches they have to activate for the TV to work normal.

Our Projection tv does not turn and is flashing

If this is a DLP (digital light projection) ? If so, the lamp is probably out. DLP's are infamous for lamp failures. You can replace that yourself if you can find someone to order it from. Look it up online or check with a local repair shop. The only thing to be careful with is when you self diagnose a TV and maybe something else in the TV is causing the lamp to go out, you may find a new bulb goes out shortly after you put it in. So... it's best to have a certified technician diagnose the TV to make sure it's not "just" the bulb.

Hope this helps!

Tv turns off at differing intervals.

It's probably time to buy a new lamp. They can be very expensive to buy, sometimes up to 400 or 500 dollars. If you think the lamp might be failing prematurely, contact LG's support or warranty department to see what your options are. If you must buy a new lamp, you should check into relamping the existing housing for the bulb. Some bulbs are easy to change the bulb and leave the reflector, saving you money, however, most of them are not easy to change. you'll have to check online.

Pull off the panel below the screen.
Remove the two screws hold the 2nd cover from the left.
Remove one screw from the lamp module and pull it out.
Buy the lamp module. It is not worth it to try replacing the lamp. You can damage the bulb easily.
