Use ur supplied recovery disk. put the disk in cd/dvd rom and turn it on, the system boot sequence must be on "first boot cd". the rest restoring process will do the cd automatically.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

WAIT!!

Everybody settle down! There's no need for violence!

(Listening to the background audio in the video, lol!)

Slowly take a deep breath.............OK, now slowly exhale.
Gently rub your temples a little bit.

(And GET that guy in the audio SOME help, lol!)

Better? OK.

YES. You will need the Restoration Disk. (Restore Disk, whatever)

Really? Huh. Never heard of them.

Generally you want to get the Restoration Disk from THE computer manufacturer. Not the 'dealer'.

Do I assume it's Acer? (Due to the name on the monitor)

Now THAT, might be a problem.

(Get the guy in the background audio to get the disk, lol!
"What? SURE, here sir. Just settle down. Here's the disk!" )

New computer? Like...how old?
Less than 6 months, it should be covered.

No, not under Easyjack,....I mean Easy Home......but from Acer themselves.

http://www.acer-group.com/public/index/services.htm

Have the Serial Number off of the back of the computer, (Or up on the side of the computer tower), written down.
S/N = Serial Number

[ONLY give to an authorized Acer representattive.
Do NOT post on a worldwide forum ]

Turn on computer, install disk in optical drive tray. (CD/DVD drive)
When asked choose Repair.
Non-Destructive Installation.

Can you please give me step by step insturctions on how to totally wipe my hardrive on my dell latitude 600? Then I will refoat it back to its orignal settings. thank You

Unless you're donating the drive, there's no need to do anything before re-installing the OS. When Windows asks where you want to install the OS to, you'll see an option for formatting the drive first.
If you are donating it and are worried about someone recovering the data (after formatting and re-installing, it's not something the average tech can do) I'd recommend booting the laptop off CD/USB drive with this image (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/) and running one of the Hard Disk Wiping utilities. Mind you, some of the very thorough ones (military-grade) can take DAYS.

I want to take my acer aspire back to the factory setting but dont have a cd how do i do it

Acer are cheap and they don't provide you with a factory restore disk. You need to make this factory disk yourself. I know how to do this, but it is to much for me to type and here is a really really good reference site for you to visit to get instruction to make your own factory restore disk. After making that restore disc,  pop the disk into your laptop and turn of your laptop and restart and the factory restore program should start, if it should not start then go into your bios menu and have it boot from your Dvd-Rom and save, after full restoration, make sure you turn your boot priority back to where your Os is being installed, exm hard drive.

How do i reboot my laptop back to factory settings

To reboot to factory setting you need to have the restore disk from the computer, put it in the drive and restart with the cd in the drive, if the startup screen does not start right away you need to type f11 or f6 to change startup order to cd first the the restore screen will startup and click restore factory settings

Acer Aspire 5100 back to factory settings

You may be able to hold F2 as you power up to open up the "setup" screen. There should be an option to restore to factory defaults on that screen.

Would like to set it back tofactory settings

start up the computer and in the bio's there should be an option to press a key like F9 or something to open the repair console...from this menu choose re-set to factory settings...there should be a backup partition on acer hard drives to restore it back...

if this dosn't work bang in an OS cd - boot it up from the bios and follow the on screen instructions - drivers that are not installed will be avalible from acer's website - they are quite good for downloading them

I want to restore my Acer Aspire M1100 desktop computer back to factory settings. I have the disks from Acer, one is a System Disk and one is a Recovery Disk. Is there any way to restore/reinstall Vista...

Hello,

If you used the restore disk on your computer it will erase all files, and all your programs. the restore Factory settings means "ALL" settings the time you created the CD for the restore.

If you have an individual Vista Installer CD with the Serial you can use it and use restore option.

Thank you for using Fixya
Hope this helps.

How do you go back to factory settings on a philips freevents x51 laptop?

If you cannot find the backup disks an option that you can do is system restore although it really depends on how long your last restore point is.

Go to start then run then type in MSCONFIG
after that click on Launch System Restore
Restore it to the oldest date. Luckily it will have the system checkpoint at the first time you used it.
