Question about Dell Dimension 5150 (DIM515MIN) PC Desktop
Turned off the computer to day and when i went to turn on tonight the yellowe light is flashing and wont let me turn it on. any sujestion
It was the USB port in the front. one of the pins was touching the outer metal wall of the port, thus shorting the circuit and showing up as a low voltage problem. Freed the bent pin in the broken USB port and put tape over the port so someone does not stick another USB key in to the broken port.
System running fine now.

An Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Just to make sure that nothing else is causing the problem, remove any PCI cards like modem, video card, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables to CD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.
