Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "AcerSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Network drivers.

So You PC hangs when ever you open any application.
Try this:
1. Turn off the PC
2. Tap F8 while booting the PC go to the Advanced Boot Option winodw
3. using your up & dow arrow chose (Safe Mode With Networking) hit enter
4. sign in as the ADMIN (if available) or you profile
5. Open the internet ( IE, Firefox)
6. go to www.malwarebytes.org
7. Download & Update Malwarebytes and run a Full scan
8. Remove what is found and reboot into normal mode

First thing to try, is to do a system restore. You can go back to an earlier time. Pick the lastest time right before you installed the updates. System restore should be found in the Control Panel.
