Foot control ''dead'

I have a Janome 6000 and the foot control just does not work. I have tried a few places here in NZ and they tell me to throw the machine away. I have not long had it in for checking and everything was OK, machine is good. I thought for the price I paid it would last longer than this. PLEASE can you help me. I have a 7000 that did this. Open up the foot control, there will be a plastic lever, that goes up and down, and is suppose to press against a strike plate. My guess is that it is not touching the strike plate. There is a metal pin that goes through the plastic lever, reposition that pin so it touches the plate and glue or fasten in in some way to permanently hold it. Put the control back together like you took it apart.

This uses foot control # 031570312 which also fits New Home Models 2122,3123,5001,5500,6000,7000,and 7500. It can be ordered from Janome dealers and some Elna Machines use the same cord and control. It will cost $100 more or less.
You do have a good machine but you need to make sure it is really the foot control which is bad and not a circuit board.

Where can I buy a 1/4" foot for a Janome in nz ?

I would suggest that you visit the Janome Australiasia website, and go to their Find a dealer page, link is http://www.janome.co.nz/janome_store_location1.php?sid=nz

There should be a Janome dealer near you and they should either have a foot or order it in for you.

Other option is to buy one from Ebay but I've always preferred to support a local dealership as you can benefit from their product knowledge too.

Here is link for the 1/4" foot

I have a Janome DC 2010. The machine has started to continue to sew even when my foot is off the foot control. I turn the machine off and then back on and it goes to error message fc....then goes to...

my book show the FC stands for Foot Control
have you tryed repluging the foot control into the machine to see if that stops the problem
if you have & it didn't stop the problem
then I agree you need a new foot control

Where can I purchase Necchi Lydia 3 foot control

Contact this person and see if she can help you

dawn@sewingtime.co.nz

or

enquiries@sewingtime.co.nz

Or use their contact page

Then ask where you can get one.

The foot control you use should be readily available at any sewing machine parts supply source. There are models that range in USD from $35.00 to 69.00 for the replacement foot control.

I would look in the yellow pages under sewing machines and parts for a local replacement source not being concerned about brand name when it comes to a foot control other than like connections.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My janome memory craft 9000 sews without pushing the foot control. It's like the foot control is stuck even if I haven't pushed it. I have to shut the machine off to get it to stop.

Inside the foot control is a component called a supressor.......it is there to reduce or stop the "crackle" interference you may have on TV & Radio when using the machine.
It is not necessary for the functioning of the machine, but when it fails, or burns out, there is generally an acrid smell of burned plastic.....then it runs on by itself and you need to turn it off at the switch to stop it.
Best suggestion if you are not comfortable about opening electrical items, is to take it to a Janome service centre and tell them exactly what is wrong, as described above.. "a burned out suppressor, and the machine now runs by itself"
They ought to be able to do this for very little money really, it is a 2 minute job.......if it has been a while since the last service, you may wish to consider having it all done at the same time, depends on usage and budget in the end.
Let us all know how you get on.

Janome 5124 keeps running after I depress foot

Greetings, I experienced the same problem. Mine only ran a few stitches. Foot pressure on the foot feed was always "tension" problem in my foot.

I turned the foot feed around and upside down.
I press on the foot feed at the open end not the pivot (cord) end. This has given me much better control. Janome had no options for foot feed adjustment or replacement, but this has helped greatly. You may have to practice to get used to it

Sewing machine foot

Hi Debbie,

Your Ergo was made by Janome - so you have lots of options for accessories.

The foot model you list is the foot control for the machine - is this what you are looking for?

Our first recommendation is to support your local stores whenever possible - and your local Janome dealer may have the foot control and lots of other accessories for your machine in stock.

If you can't find what you need locally, you can try Sewing Machines Plus in San Marcos, CA appears to. I did find another reference to it on yet another website, but it states they are out of stock and taking orders for future stock.

While we don't have the foot control for your machine, we do have a bunch of Janome presser feet & embroidery cards/design on our site that may work for you as well.

Best of luck in finding your foot control.
