Problem for Sony KV-27S20 27" TV
Tv screen Faulty
I have a sony triniton TV set which has operated for about four years without any problem but one day, as the tv was on, the screen went black showing nothing and some little smoke was seen coming from behind it. What could be the problem or advise me on which probable spares that could be blown. Thanks alot. Josexto.

It's always a bad sign when the magic blue smoke is released from inside the TV set. I would suspect a defective capicator has blown its' top. When the screen went black, did you lose audio also? If you still have audio, it's possible that resistor R587 Opened up which would smoke, (1.5k 1/4 W) And D518 Shorted (Nte558) If you lost audio as well, then it could be a shorted Vertical IC pack. If you're not up to testing and replacing components, the set will need to see a repair shop.
