I hit some key/keys that made the screen show up in zoom mode. Even when I restarted the laptop, the screen shows up with the large print. How do I get the screen back in normal viewing mode?

Just un-install and re-install the graphics drivers, should sort the problem out for you

My screen goes blank when I restart, what should I do?

Your screen may be going bad. Try the steps below.

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If the external monitor displays your screen that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash light and nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card is bad.

Top half of my monitor screen shows at the bottom

Try plugging an external monitor to your laptop and see how it displays on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old fat crt's as long as it has a vga cable that will connect to your laptops vga port.

If the display does not immediately show up, then you will have to hit the FN (Function key)+(F1 thru F12) to show the image. Press and Hold the FN key then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key. The correct F1 thru F12 key will have either CRT/LCD written on it or it will have a display icon on it.

If the image displays correctly on your external monitor, then you will need to replace your lcd screen.

Having problems with my laptop theres white lines that goes across my screen and freezes my hole laptop and when i try to turn it on sometimes theres nothing that even show up on the screen

Restart your computer in same mode and see if you see the same issue.
To do this tap the F8 key as soon as the laptop begins to start.

If you see the same problem even in safe mode it might be problem with your laptop screen and might need to be serviced at the service center

Every thing is to large print and screen

Welcome to Fixya.

If the prints on your screen is large, it is possible that it is zoomed in. You can zoom out by pressing down CTRL key then press minus sign (number pad). This will zoom it out. If you want to zoom in again, CTRL key then press plus sign.

Please let me know if this is the fix you are looking for.

Cheers!

''PRESS FN + X TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO NORMAL MODE'. This does not appear to work, it then shows hit F1 for shutdown, nothing happening with that operation either.

Browser Enlarged

If part of the web page is not visible on the screen, you may have accidentally dragged it off to the side. Click the green button at the top-left corner of the web page to resize the window to fit on the screen.
If your screen resolution is set to 800 x 600 or less, most web pages won't fit on the screen. If possible, increase resolution to at least 1024 x 768 in System Preferences > Displays.
You may have accidentally hit Command (Apple key) and the plus sign (+) key -- this makes the text bigger. To reduce text size, hit Command and hyphen (-) key.
Finally, if Zoom is turned on in the Universal Access setting, you be looking at only part of the screen -- zoomed in like using a magnifying glass. Hold down Command (Apple key) and ALT key and hyphen (-) to see if this is on -- it will unzoom (zoom out) by one step. Turn this off or on in System Preferences > Universal Access.
I hope that helps.
