Dell UltraSharp 1800FP - display leak - blue craziness

Hello there, when I turn my Dell UltraSharp 1800FP on, it may work fine or it will go weird blueish effect. I tried all kinds of things - without the VGA cable, the monitor shows the "self diagnostics display" and right side of that box is "leaking" blueish, hard to explain for me, but someone there will understand. It could stay like that and run up and down with nicwe clear NO SIGNAL box or it shoots and leaks the color just on the side of that box or goes crazy all over the display. As I said, hard for me to explain... is there anyone who would know what am I talking about and help. Please...

That one is going to take component level troubleshooting. It could be the power suply, but I might first suspect the video board.

Dell 1800FP has slight yellow cast

Your Display cable (inside your monitor) needs to be replaced. (Or reseated)

I would look on ebay to try and find the part and then take it to a local tech to replace it for you as I would not recommend anyone take apart a monitor (LCD OR CRT) if you had never done so before.

Monitor on but not working properly

If you just built the computer..the motherboard will give you a warning that some hardware has changed. you have to connect your keyboard and go into the bios and make sure everything is right. To be safe select set to default factory settings , save and reboot the computer. This is to prevent the settings for a previous cpu be used for the new one.

Left half of screen is perfect. Right half of screen shakes

Look to see if there is any kind of magnet by the screen. Even speakers wil do it. So does anything that emits micro waves such as cell phones and microwave ovens. So just move it or anything that you think could mess it up.
