I'm pretty sure my TV is the same model.
My problem is wen i turn on my TV it wont stop changing channels. It will work fine for about 5mins then it will keep going down channels (6 then 5 then 4.....) and wont stop. I have tried isolating the TV in another room but that diddn't stop it. I have als taken the batteries out of the remote but that hasnt stopped it.
Ive fiddled about with the buttons on the TV but none of them seem to be jammed.
The TV gives perfect image quality. It just wont stop changing channels.

Re: Tv wont stop changing channels
Ok, Sony had this issue on their early production. The problem you are having is called a leaky switch. The volume down switch on the TV is leaky. To fix this you must replace the switch. This part is called the switch block. Part number 1-473-549-21

I have an AOC 32" LCD HDTV and it turns on by itself as well. Tuning is done via my cable box, so the tv is set on HDMI and I don't have the channel changing issue. I as well am trying to figure it out. The only thing I could suggest is perhaps the remote batteries are low and triggering on it's own. Try changing the batteries, or ensure that the remove it in a drawer or other room so that triggering the unit is impossible. Hope that helps.
I have had this problem on this same model (F32650) and I discovered that what is happening is that dust and debris are causing the microswitches in the panel to short, therefore the channel starts changing and wont stop or the volume changes etc...
Get some electronic switch cleaner and (with the power off of course!) spray into the crevaces around each button and press each button a few times and then power the unit back on and it should be fine.
this is the same type of problem happening with other rca models and I know it is the EPROM CHIP but why this is failing is either because of design flaw , dirty enviroment that they were made in , to much voltage or current to the chip or too much of a draw from the chip causing it to fail . Or even a random frequency from the IR sensor or its circut I'm still investigating and testing.
leave the tv unplugged for at least 3 weeks durring this time resolder any solder that don't look good , I did this and it lasted for about 6 months(always plugged in to the wall) before it started doing it again. model # 27v412t
Had the same problem, channels would not stop scrolling.
It was as though someone had there finger on the channel up button.
Disconnected the sixth wire, starting with the black wire on the wiring harness for the front buttons, on/off, ch. up/down, vol. up/down, etc.
It works fine, no more unwanted channel surfing!!
ok, let's try the simplest things first....
unplug the tv from the wall, and remove the batteries from the remote. wait about 5 or 10 minutes. reinstall the batteries and plug the tv back in. try it again. actually since you said you tried another remote, you can skip removing the batteries from the remote.
if it still does it, try unplugging the tv overnight. if it still doesn't work right then, you have a processor problem, and need to have it looked at by a service tech.
