There is no push feature for Yahoo. It's a web based e-mail driven system just like hotmail and Google is. It can be used in Yahoo chat software as well if you have that feature on your Iphone.

The software might have changed in the Iphone but I know some users on this site complained that there was only one email account available per phone. I don't know if that was an Apple thing or an AT&T thing.

The G1 has a push feature for Google Mail but thats because Google software resides on the phone.

I believe in Yahoo you can forward the e-mail to another e-mail account. If you had it forward to another e-mail account on your phone that is pushing that would be the only work around.

7 Select the Google services that you want to sync. For me, I activated all the available synchronization services. Tap Done google sync enable Your Google sync Push notification services is now set up To activate the push notification you need to turn the Push feature on in the iPhone Settings section. At the Mail Contacts, Calendar section tap Fetch New Data Make sure that the Push is turned to ON Done Few things to note 1 Google sync requires you to be constantly connected to the Web You have to keep your 3G or WIFI connection Always Of for the best result 2 The push notification can be very draining on your battery life If you value your battery life much more than the push technology turn the Push feature OFF for optimal performance Push email support is one of the iPhone 3G s most anticipated features for road warriors but it doesn't work with just any email account Find out how to get hooked up The iPhone 2.0 software available for the iPhone 3G iPhone and iPod touch can t automatically turn any email account into push email It can only instantly send new messages to your phone if your email service supports push email The new iPhone 2.0 software supports push email in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange servers and Apple s Mobile Me service (the replacement for Apple s Mac Apple has labelled Mobile Me Exchange for the rest of us and it can push email to devices running iPhone 2.0 plus keep the device in sync with Microsoft Outlook on a PC or Mail Address Book and i Cal on a Mac he new iPhone s main settings menu now features a new icon Fetch New Data which lets you enable push email You can also schedule the phone to automatically check non-push email services every 15 30 or 60 minutes, or else only manually Which email works with push Push support from other services depends on the provider. The original iPhone supported push email with Yahoo by routing email through i map.apple mail yahoo.com but the service was flaky. This is still the default Yahoo email wizard configuration under iPhone 2.0 but if it refuses to work you can still go into Other and manually set up POP3 Yahoo access Gmail does not support push email only I MAP or POP3 What if I m using G mail or my email from an ISP like iiNet Of course the workaround is to forward your existing email address such as a G mail account, to your Mac account You could even create server side filters on G mail to only forward emails from certain senders to your Mac address to ensure you re not bombarded with push email spam You can also configure Mobile Me to automatically check external POP3 email accounts but this won t get emails from a G mail account to your phone as quickly as it would if your G mail account was automatically forwarding them Push email uses more data The iPhone 2.0 mail client only downloads email headers from I MAP and POP3 servers, in order to save bandwidth When accessing push email services the phone automatically downloads the body of the email and small attachments meaning you need a generous monthly data allowance The iPhone disables its wifi adaptor when sleeping switching over to the mobile data network. This means most of your push email will come down over the mobile data network while the phone is at rest, even when you're within range of a wifi network

Tip

Save notes online on iPhone/iPod/iPad

The new iOS 4 pushed out a lot of new features to all the supported devices - iPod Touch (except 1st gen), iPhone (all gens), and the iPad. One of those features is the ability to save your notes online on your email account via IMAP. For example, if you add your G-Mail or Yahoo! Mail account to your mail app via IMAP, you can enable saving of notes online.

All you have to do is to go to the settings for your email account, and flip the switch next to 'Notes' and turn it to 'ON'. After you do this, all of your notes are synced to your email account automatically.

In G-Mail, a label called 'Notes' is created in your email account. All the notes from your iOS 4 device are synced to your account as conversations, and are marked with the label 'Notes'. These notes are read-only from your G-Mail account, and can be edited only on your iOS 4 device. The changes are automatically reflected in G-Mail.

I have an LG P500. i am unable to set up email account for yahoo. it always say email id password is wrong

Hi,

Login to your yahoo mail.
And click on Options->Mail Options
Select Pop & Accounting
And select download your Yahoo! Mail in an email client, such as Outlook

Now you can setup your yahoo mail in your mobile.
Note: If you have ymail or rocket mail, you need to upgrade to yahoo mail plus, to setup in your mobile

Cheers...

What settings do I change in my yahoo account so that I can receive my emails to my HTC Hero?

Unfortunately, the only way to get native push email from Yahoo is with a Yahoo Plus! email account, which is $20 a year. However, a workaround solution would be to forward your incoming Yahoo mail to a Gmail account. That way, you will get all your Yahoo mail without having to pay for a Plus account. In your Yahoo Mail settings, go to Forward Email, and put in your Gmail account. Your should then receive your Yahoo mail on your HTC Hero.

I use both my email accounts through Outlook 2007. It is synced with my iPhone 3G and is "push"ing just fine. However, when I want to delete an email I have to manually delete it from both my phone and...

Hello there and welcome to lfete at Fixya, the Support Team

If you import your mails on both devices then you have to delete them both places since they are stored on both devices (computer and Phone).

For avoid this annoing feature you have to only import them in one of these two or you can acces you mail provider online. I mean also there is a feature where you can disable the import of the mails in outlook, but do it manually.

Hope that helps

Email set up

Push Email (0.0)
There is no support for push email where an email is received as soon as it arrives at your account.
Multiple Email Accounts (0.0)
The built in java client does support multiple email accounts, however we are not awarding points for the client due to the connectivity requirement.
HTML and Attachments (0.0)
The Nokia 5310's email program does not support HTML emails and does not allow you to view attachments.
Email Customizations (0.0)
There are no email customization options on the 5310's java client for email.
Time to a New Email Message (0.0)
We did not do this test as we are not awarding points for the 5310's email program. See above for more information.
Email Usability (0.0)
We are not awarding points, as explained above.
Instant Messaging (0.0)
The Nokia 5310 supports IM on AIM, ICQ, Windows Live and Yahoo messenger services. Unfortunately, you are charged for a text message for each instant message sent or received. This may be okay if you don't have a data plan, but if you do, we don't think it's fair for carriers to charge you extra for data services when you are already paying for an unlimited plan. On top of that, text message rates are outrageously expensive, and as such we don't award points for instant messaging services that use text message gateways. If you absolutely need to use the IM client, we recommend that you get an unlimited texting plan.

Push email not working

I've been told that there are e-mail limitations on an Iphone such as one e-mail account per phone. Kind of sad that Apple did that since most Blackberry phones can handle up to 10 e-mail accounts and possibly even more if you have access to a Blackberry domain controller.

You might have to use the web browser to get your ymail to work. I take it Ymail is Yahoo Mail?

This is a duplicate thread and a duplicate post.

Nokia e71 Battery life

The battery drains so quickly because it maintains a constant connection to the network via a data uplink and downlink.Meaning its like continously talking on ur mobile phone. With Push email, the device is constantly connecting to the network which means its downloading data (which is ur email) on a regualr basis. And thus is draining the battery faster.
Put it to the test!!! turn ur push email off and you will find that the battery will last for 3 days

The best solution is to buy an extra battery and keep it handy in your car.

Cheers

P.S. The battery that comes with the E71 is 1100 mAH .. right ?
