Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer
I have an HP 2840 Color Laser Multifunction Printer. It is connected direct via an HP USB Cable to a Dell Latitude D610 Laptop. I have a continous "random" problem of printing a job and the printer sending a "Failed to Print" error. To solve this problem, the only recourse is to turn the printer off and then on.
This usually happens when the printer has not printed something for a few hours. I have the Power Off set at "12 Hours." I have also tried setting the USB to both "high-speed" and also USB at normal speed.
This is very frustruating to have to turn the printer off and on 4-5 times per day. When I check the printer queue, the job is listed but does not print. Only when I reboot the printer will it print. I am running HP Director 45.4.1 software. Any recommendations?
Set powermode "allways on" for the lap top. Use an Usb cable no longer then 2 m. Try upgrade firmware for the printer. If still got problem use a powered usb hub between laptop and printer.
