Janome Needle plate and needles hitting something underneath

I have a Janome magnolia 7034D serger. I can hear the needles hitting something under the needle plate and the needle plate appears to have something broken on it..there are two needle like things that are flush with the needle plate but one is broken off.

Sounds like you have a broken needle deflector/ guard. They can be replaced easily but if this is the case, don't try using the machine until the part is replaced. It's a common problem as they sometimes get loose and the needle or looper will break them. I will incude my email address. rtarkington2@cfl.rr.com.

The broken pins are called chaining pins and are tricky for the home user to replace without risking damage to the needle plate as they are difficult to remove and the tiny burr used to hold them firm can easily open up and no longer grip the pin.
There are only a couple of things under the needleplate that are likely to collide with the needles. 1. Lower looper - with the needles 2. Both Loopers colliding with each other - not with the needles 3. Needle guards attached to lower looper - with the needles 4. Fixed Needle guard - with the needles
If you remove the needleplate and VERY gently turn the handwheel you should be able to see and feel where the collision is occuring and have a better idea of the issue.
I would strongly advise that you do not try to operate the machine until you are sure that the colliding components are adjusted. Broken loopers are approx $65 AUD and guards, tho' only about $20 AUD require some finesse in adjustment. Chain Pins approx $6 AUD
My recommendation is to speak with your local Janome dealer for advice and an approximate price to repair, replace or adjust as the case may be.
Your country's Janome website is certain to have a Dealer Locator page to list the nearest to you.
This is one occasion where it is sensible to call on the people who do these things routinely rather than try to DIY and make a more expensive hash of it.

If machine speed is not controllable with your foot controller, you probably need a new controller. These items should be covered by a 2 year warranty from Janome.

Sounds like your needle is hitting the needle plate instead of going through the tiny hole down to the bobbin. Try using the handwheel slowly and watch. Or perhaps the needle is hitting the bobbin case. Something has been knocked off the straight I think. Has your machine been dropped or dmamaged?

Can I just change the needle plate on my janome overlocker been told I need to have loopers reset

Sergers are funny things. You can certainly try just replacing the needle.... make sure you thread correctly. upper looper, lower looper, right needle left needle... etc.

Before you take off sewing... run the machine by hand a few revolutions if it seems to be moving with no more clunking etc. try to sew. If it breaks the needle again. Stop immediately and take it in.

I have a Janome Magnolia 7330. The bobbin thread will not be drawn up.

The easiest solution would be to change your needle. They do wear out, get bent, etc, and that makes it difficult for them to pick up the bobbin thread. If you did just change the needle, there was a hint here on FixYa about being sure to face the needle correctly. If you feel the needle, there will be a flat side and a curved side. Check your owner's manual to see which side should face which direction.

I can hear a clicking when serging

Sounds like your looper timing is off. you will have to have your local shop re-time it. Find a shop that gives free estimates first.

Hope that helps,

Needle seems to be hitting the plate and sounds

sounds like the sewing head is out of line. Suggest that it be serviced by an authorized Husqvarna Viking Dealer. You can find the nearest dealer by click on the "Dealer" link at http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
Good luck.
