Question about Gateway MX6438 Notebook
Wait! Did you make sure that your wireless light is on before booting into XP? It's the left most light (LED) below your track pad buttons on the laptop.
If it doesn't turn on before bootup, then simply press Fn + F2 while XP is booting and then proceed with install of the drivers. if that doesn't work, then reply again here.

Download the driver from gateway, but when you run the exe file don't forget to add /is. You need to read the readme.txt and you will see that (/is).

After reinstalling my laptop, I haven't got the softvare to setup the wireless in my laptop. Can you send me the wireless software driver to reinstall it? Thank you very much.

I reinstalled the driver but still it did not work
It seems to be a hardware problem
Because the Device Manager does not list a wireless adapter at all
So ultimately I either have to replace it or to buy a new external wireless adapter
Thanks for the help

I'm not sure what happened but we got disconnected somehow. What you want to do, seeing as you are using another laptop, is download the software from Gateway and save it onto a cd-rom. Insert the cd rom into the gateway, open the driver and install the driver onto the laptop. This should work. If it doesn't, let me know!
