Question about Pioneer VSX-516-K

TV/SAT Video channel went out - Pioneer VSX516

Recently the video on the TV/SAT function has been going in and out. Now when I switch to TV/SAT there is no video output at all. Could this be a setting or has something blown out? It has to be something to do with the pioneer receiver because the DVD function is fine and when I bypass the receiver by plugging my cable receiver directly into the tv, it works fine.

Double check the video connection cable directly out of the SAT reciver and the video cable out from the Pioneer reciver, as there maybe an intermittant connection in them. If you replace them or sub them for known good ones, and you still have this probem, there is a switching IC inside the pioneer that has to be replaced.

I have my 42lg50 for 5 years recently turn it off for half an hower it lose memory i have to scan again to get my channels.what do u think is the problem.

Something in the set's microprocessor (just like a computer only smaller) serves this function.

A way around it if you have cable or a sat box is route the signal from the box to one of the rear sets of audio/video jacks on rear of TV and bypass the issue completely--leave set on that input and change channels with the box............

fixing that loss of memory will not be cheap.............

I have a Pioneer VSX-D308 reciever and I have... no idea how to hook it up to my big TV (bought receiver used). Do I need the red/white cords? Do I need other cables? HELP! Wanting to hook up to big...

What your unidentified TV >>requires<< is the BEST Video from every video source. That would be the DVD, SAT Box. It probably has multiple high-end video inputs, right?

What your receiver needs is at least a basic composite video connection to the TV so you can set it up and manage it.

A web search for "Pioneer VSX-D308 manual" will find the manual.

ALL of the BEST Audio should go directly to the Pioneer. That includes the SAT and DVD player.

Your TV can exist just fine with basic audio from the video sources. And you could still watch it/them without the Pioneer turned of if you want.

I can't find the exact manual for free anywhere but if you download something similar like it should give you the basic guidance you need.

I recommend

Do some web searching for what the cables are for. It's all basic and standard.

My power went out while watching TV. Now there is no sound when I turn my receiver to TV/SAT. If I put the receiver on CD there is sound but no picture. The receiver works fine if I go to DVD; there is...

It would seem the TV/SAT source is where the problem lies. No picture with CD? Really?

How about bypassing the receiver to prove what is failing?

TV screen on video 2 and remote died

The only way your going to change the video mode is with the original remote. If you need another remote go to or call 1800 remotes Theres a button on the upper left hand side of the remote called video mode. A universal most of the time will not work this function. You could ask around to your friends and buddies or relitives if anyone has a working Sanyo remote or go to a local retailer that sells Sanyo and see if he would let you borrow one for a little while so you can switch out of the video mode. Good Luck
