hi
If the battery is weak, must replace with a new one, zoom struck open the cam check the zoom motor on the camera section give a little lubrication to loos it, if the motor not working replace it.
This does require disassembly to remedy the problem. There are various possible fixes.
The most prevelant I have seen is cold solder connections of the board connector for the fpc cable from the top operation switch block ass'y. All you need is someone who can handle this task, like a professional. The controls that you are experiencing problems with are all linked with one cable and connector. One bad solder joint can cause serveral operation faults.
Good Luck,

do you mean the writing on the screen is small or the whole screen is small ? if the writing is small then you have just zoomed out of focus , you can zoom in by pressing CTRL + and zoom out with CTRL - on windows , or by using the scroll button on a mac.
ifthe whole screen is small then your resolution has gone somehow , to fix this right click on the desktop and choose personalise or properties then click on screen settings or resolution depending on which version of windows you are running.
using the dropdown box in the middle of the screen choose a setting which suits you , im guessing it is on 800x600 now choose 1024x768 this should make it better.
Try going into picture setting and reduce the zoom angle or if it's whilst you are watching Sky TV go into System Settings, Picture Settings and change the Aspect Ratio (ie. From 4:3 to 16:9 or visa versa)
If you have a mouse with a wheel, hold down the CTRL key, and then scroll the wheel to zoom in or out.
If you click the Change Zoom Level button , it will cycle through 100%, 125%, and 150%, giving you a quick enlargement of the webpage.
From the keyboard you can increase or decrease the zoom value in 10% increments. To zoom in, press CTRL+PLUS SIGN (+). To zoom out, press CTRL+MINUS SIGN (-). To restore the zoom to 100%, press CTRL+0.
Using the remote control, locate the ZOOM button below number 7. You can press this to zoom in on the picture (2x, 3x, 4x.. After 4x, if ZOOM is pressed again, the picture goes back to Normal)
There is no way to take off "2X" while it's in the 2x zoom
the cable remote has a zoom feature in the settings. the zoom setting got turned on somehow. This feature overrides the picture size settings on the tv.
so, not a tv problem at all, but easily missed.
If this white spot is always exactly the same, but moves off the picture when you start to digital zoom and not optical zoom, there is probably something on the sensor. You mentioned that when zooming, eventually it moves. Are you in digital zoom mode at that time? (The switchover from optical to digital zoom is automatic, but you can disable it). Is this white spot blurry or sharp? Can you see fringes of the image at the edges? (This would suggest something on the lens).
If there is a piece of dust inside the lens ,you may be able to see it looking down the lens. How big is this spot?
Either way, if the camera is new, can you still return it?
