How do you get email to stop deleting from your inbox after 7 days? It doesn't even move it to the Trash/Deleted folder, it just disappears.

Have you checked your email through a method other than the iphone to see if it truly is gone? The phone will only display so many messages at a time, maybe your previous ones are just "dropping off" the bottom of the list. If that's the case then they're still on the server, just not visible on the phone. You can view more by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Show. Hope this helps.

My phone was set to display 75 messages. The max I have kept in the inbox is 30. It currently shows 10, but if I open an email, it says there are 21. Where are they?! Important emails have dropped off within a one month period of receipt!

Remove email that is old on my iphone

The iPhone 4 allows you to choose to remove old messages after one day, one week or one month automatically without you having to do anything.
You must first have to activate this feature for it to work though, otherwise the default is set to Never.
Here's how:
1. Press the Home button.
2. Then select Settings.
3. Next pick General.
4. Now select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
5. Then choose a desire account you would like to activate the setting.
6. Now tap on Advanced.
7. Select Remove.
8. Finally select a desire period before old email is removed.
Here are your options:
- Never
- One day
- One week
- One month
Once the email is removed from you iPhone you will no longer get access to it again.

Are both the computer and the iphone configured with the email you are having a problem with ? If so, I would suggest you verify the configuration of the email clients you are using.

It may be that the PC or the iphone has been configured to deleted the emails from your inbox after two weeks.

Is this through the native email application or do you have a third party application? Also, have you tried sorting through your email on safari or a desktop/laptop browser?
I suggest removing your email data from the iphone and adding the email once more. That should work by having the iphone fetching the data and organizing it, trash and all. Good luck!

Can google retrieve deleted messages for me

Hi,

If you deleted an email from your inbox, it will go to the "Bin".

In the search box above your inbox, you can type in part of the email address of the one you are looking for. After hitting search, at the bottom of the search there may be a message saying

"Deleted messages match your search. View them or go to Bin to delete forever."

If there is, you can click on the link to see if the email you want is in the bin. If it is, you can restore to your inbox by clicking on the tick box and then clicking on "Move to Inbox"

If the email is not in either of these searches then it will have been purged. Googlemail only keeps emails for 30 days in the bin as a standard.

Hope that helps, pls rate the solution

How do I empty my Iphone mailbox

Doesn't matter which folder you're in, it works the same - just hit "Edit" at the top - all of the emails scoot to the right revealing a faint circle. Tap the circle next to the message you want to delete and it'll turn red. There will then be a button at the botton that says "Delete" with the number of msgs you've selected in parentheses.

If you want to totally empty every message, you'll have to select each one and then delete them, but in the trash folder there will be a button that says "Delete All" at the bottom after you hit "Edit"
