yeah.. I had bought 64 gb kingston pendrive DTI/64 GB from one of the re-seller and I am not able to format in Win XP/Vista, I could format by downloading one of the software available on net named "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool" and been able to format. But still the problem of not saving files/docs on pen drive remains same like... It starts copying files to pen drive and then suddenly vanishes off.. (the properties shows that the memory is consumed, whereas the files are not visible even after unhiding..
    REQUEST, ANY BODY.. PLEASE.. perkisams@hotmail.com

    Hello,
recently I purchased one kingston pendrive of 64GB from Palika bazar Delhi. I verified its capacity at the shop itself on computer. later when i copied some files on pendrive. it start showing the files on the pendrive. However if I remove the pendrive and again connect it with coputer, every thing simply disappears. The pendrive remains empty and showing full available capacity. I could not understand the reason.

Please go and use this tool

HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool

http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download/fid,64963-order,4-c,peripherals/download.html

In vista you can use exfat format which is new one of fat32. But XP does not recognize this. But the above tool fixed it for me. Thanks to Kuamran.

Guys
If you are using any pen drive above 16 GB, then it should be formatted in exFAT. Do not try FAT32 or NTFS.
If you have Windows 7 or Vista, it works fine. But if you have windows XP or 2003, you need to visit microsoft website and download "WindowsXP-KB955704-x86-ENU.exe" or other appropriate file. Once you install that update, you can format and use the Pen Drive 32 GB or above.

Sounds like a victum of a 1Gb drive.made to think it is 64 gb or what evr size! I got 2 drives in Hong Hong and sure enough it will not hold much for long. It will take 7 hours to fill up, but if you unplug it while it is writting you loose the drive. If you but it in another computer few years older you loose everything again!
$60 down the drane!

Kingston DataTraveler 64GB USB is not recognized by pc or laptop

Hey hi dude. As far as i heard, 64 gb drives are error prone to a greater extent. In some cases it is just showing 32 gb of storage space for the user. So better go to a nearby Kingston Service center and claim for a New replacement for your Pen drive. Am really sorry to say this. But there is no other go. Kingston provides you a nice customer service. Within one week, you will get a brand new drive as a replacement for your drive. Believe me!!!

8 gb kingston Data Traveller showing zero disk space

All you need to do is to format the Pen Drive.
Open My computer.
Right Click on Pen drive.
Then click on Format. You will get different options like quick format or such.
Select the option that says complete format.
Once you format the drive you will be able to use it.

Thanks

Unable to format 64 gb pen drive

Plug your pen drive into a computer that is on. In Windows Explorer, find the pen drive and right click on it and select "Properties". Select the "Tools' tab and then the "Check Now" button in the "Check the volume for errors"Box. Select both oxes and click "Start". Hopefully this will recover all of your drive. If not, the drive has been compromised (toasted). Then you should check with Kingston to get a replacement.

Hello there. you will most likely have to buy a disk utility like partition magic, or some such. if you go to softpedia .com there should be some good free/shareware programs there.
