RCA TV Model F36650

I have an RCA Entertainment series TV (model # F36650). The picture squeezes from the bottom up. This constantly changes to between 1/4 to 1/2 the screen. Also, the whole picture "giggles a little. What do you think can be wrong. Also, are there any adjustments I can make?? Thanks for your help.

I am having the same issue as the prior post. Sometimes the screen is completely fine and the picture is great. Other times the screen jiggles on all channels and I get a 1/2" to 1" black border on the bottom of the screen. I have also noticed a borden beginning to appear on the sides when this happens - smaller at the top and much wider at the bottom of the screen. Could it be the picture tube going?

I will add that I have had the TV about five years and this just started to happen within the last week. I just purchased a new plasma TV to replace it in the main room, but if this TV is fixable for a reasonable cost, I would consider having it repaired to use it elsewhere in the house.

    Hopefully someone has a solution.

Any idea what it would cost to have a TV repair guy fix this? I have a new plasma TV on the way (finally convinced the wife I "needed one as the old set was going" and I wasn't going to miss the chance to finally get one), but if this is fixable for a reasonable price, I'll get it repaired and put it in the basement.

There are defective components in the vertical circuit. If you can solder and are comfortable working inside the set (there are dangerous high voltages present even when unplugged), you can fix this. Let me know and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

I'll look up the details on this model. Assuming that the vertical IC needs to be replaced as well as capacitors in the same circuit (worst case), expect a parts cost in the $40 range.

    Stay tuned for more details...

Front panel blocked or locked

RCA Entertainment Series 32" Plus Gold, GEMSTAR, xbox ready has been in the shop twice so far. Transformer replaced and 6 months later the picture suddenly had horizontal white lines that gradually spaced apart more from top to bottom and it had a gray hue and fuzzy, but I still watched it for 3 months that way. Today I turned it on and about a minute later I heard a loud crackling sound coming from the back and the picture disappeared, screen went black. Is it worth fixing again? Picture horizontal problems

There is a sevice menu but it is something a repair man has to adjust. Even to get to that menu is a matter of procedure. If the picture is not always squeezed down then adjustment is not the problem. If it is intermitant it could be a bad solder connection on the main board.Sometimes a bad vertical ic and leakey capacitors can be the problem..
Bottom line is there is not much you can do to correct the problem. You are going to need a service man

Sound is fine, but no picture

could be a bad solder connection or maybe the CRT socket has come off slightly. I lean more to a bad solder connection at the flyback area screen G2
