How do i connect this terminal to windows 2003 server please give me the settings

Open Remote Desktop Connection loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); To open Remote Desktop Connection, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Remote Desktop Connection.

Create a Terminal Services Connection loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); To create a Terminal Services connection, follow these steps:
  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection.
  2. In the Computer box, type the computer name or the IP address of a terminal server or a computer that has Remote Desktop enabled.
Note: To connect to the console session of the remote computer, type computername or IP address /console.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. In the Log On to Windows dialog box, type your user name, password, and domain (if necessary), and then click OK.

Save Connection Settings loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); You can save a connection as a Remote Desktop protocol (.rdp) file. An .rdp file contains all the information for a connection to a terminal server, including the Options settings that were configured when the file was saved. You can customize any number of .rdp files, including files for connecting to the same server with different settings. For example, you can save a file that connects to MyServer in full screen mode and another file that connects to the same computer in 800×600 screen size.

To save your connection settings, follow these steps:
  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection, and then click Options.
  2. Specify the connection settings that you want for this connection.
  3. On the General tab, click Save As.
  4. In the File name box, type a file name for the saved connection file, and then click Save.
Note: To edit an .rdp file to change the connections settings it contains, click Start, click My Documents, right-click the file and then click Edit.

Open a Saved Connection loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); To open a saved connection, follow these steps:
  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection, and then click Open.
  2. Double-click the .rdp file for the connection that you want to open.

Copy Files Between the Local Computer and the Remote Computer loadTOCNode(2, 'summary');
  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection.
  2. Type the computer name or the IP address of a terminal server or a computer that has Remote Desktop enabled.
  3. Click the Local Resources tab, select the Disk Drives check box, and then click Connect.
  4. Click Start on the task bar of the remote computer, and then click My Computer, or double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop of the remote computer.

Note: The drives on the remote server appear with the drives on your local computer. Your local drives appear as driveletter on tsclient, where tsclient is the name assigned to your (local) computer.
  5. Locate the file that you want to copy, right-click the file, and then click Copy.
  6. Locate the folder where you want to paste the file, and then click Paste.

Log Off and End the Session loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); To log off and end a session, follow these steps:
  1. In the Remote Desktop Connection window, click Start, and then click Shut Down.
  2. In the Shut Down Windows dialog box, click Log Off username, and then click OK.

I have just purchased a new laptop and I am trying to hook up to the internet. I'm getting blocked at the page saying "enter your security key or passphrase. I can't remember what it is! Can you help?

Most if you did not change it is.
User name is admin.
Password is password.
That is if you did not create your own.
You can also look on the bottom of your router or modem

Good luck

Can't get router to work after disconnection.

Try setting it up as follows, if its not working come back on and let us know.

Plug in the modem power.
Plug in the router power.
Plug in one ethernet cable from the modem to the internet port or WAN port of the router.
If not wireless, plug a second ethernet cable into the "1" port of the router and the other end of that cable to the computers LAN or ethernet port.

Attempt to get on a website.
If this is unsuccessful, restart the modem by unplugging the power cord from the modem, wait 15 seconds, then plug it back in.
Unplug the router, wait for 15 seconds then plug it back in.

Still doesn't work?
On your computer, hit Start>Run>type cmd in the text box and hit enter.
A window will open up with a cursor.
Type ipconfig /release
Hit enter.
Type ipconfig /renew
Hit enter.

Try once again to access a website. If this is unsuccessful, return this site and let us know what steps you have tried.

Hope this helps.

Removing password on T30

YES.... providing that the hard drive was not completely re-formated before the windows OS was installed.

Usually, manufacturers leave a section of the HD for this so in the event that something goes wrong, you would be abke to revert back to the manufacturer's setup.

Simply follow the following instructions... :

1) remove power from the T30.
2) hold or tap the 'G' key on the keyboard
3) apply power back on T30 while maintaining step 2)
4) turn on T30 via power button while maintaining step 2)
5) T30 should eventually boot up and in factory default settings.

If this doesn't work, repeat process or the T30 was configured to disable the 'G' key. In this case you need to reflash the firmware on the T30.

Dg 834g router

is this a wireless network?

are you trying to retrieve SECURITY codes, or just basic network settings?

your best bet is probably to log into the router, from the vista laptop, rather than looking at the settings the vista laptop is currently using...

on the vista laptop, open a webbrowser, and type in the ip address for your router.

that is PROBABLY 192.168.0.1

the username is PROBABLY admin
the password is PROBABLY "password"

from there, if you click on wireless settings, it should show you all the details you need.

did the people who set this network up for you leave any information about username, password, ip addresses, anything like that?

Remote access to lacie ethernet hard drive

you will need to open a port on the router first. Maybe 8080 once you get that set you will type the WAN ip and the port number. It will look like this: http://165.123.123.0 : 8080
it will then ask for a username and password.
