I'm having major difficulties with my AVR 2805. First of all, I got it for a lil' bit of nothin', the thing now is that it doesn't power on properly. When I plug it up, and turn on the power, it clicks, and does nothing else. It doesn't display anything, it just clicks when it comes on. Now when I power off, it merely clicks again and does nothing more. Someone who's had this issue please help me resolve mine. Thanx.

This unit is in what is termed :protect mode". This means that one or more of the amplifier channels has a rpoblem that was detected by the protection circuit inside and the unit has been shutdown to prevent further damage. This is often shorted output transistors or a defective amp pac for the surround channels. Expect a parts cost in the $50 range for this repair.
I read something the other day in the user manual about re-setting the microprocessors if the display doesn't display properly.
Turn the amp off.
Hold down the input mode & analog buttons while turning power on. The whole display should flash on & off at 1 sec intervals, then release the two buttons.
This resets the microprocessors & supposedly fixes display problems.
To reboot, turn receiver off by the small on/off button, not the big standby button. While off press the night and pure direct button at the same time and keep holding them with your right hand while pressing the small on/off button with your left. You will see your receiver menu flash. When you see it flash let go of the night and pure direct button and the receiver will reset it self to the radio station 87.50. The receiver's microprocessor has now been set back to factory. Enjoy this info is straight from Denon's Tech support. I had to do this on mine
