Question about Shure SCM810 Microphone

SCM810 audio input sound garbled

We use an SCM810 to cover Town Meetings and the mic audio levels, when adjusted on the front of the unit scratch and sound distorted. Then they settle down. Not sure how to fix the problem.

It sounds like the pots have become dirty or bad. I believe these are sealed pots, so you might need to replace them. It's probably easiest to send the mixer to Shure to have them replace the pots.

Distortion in my mic

Adjust the preamplifier level to approx. 9-12o'clock on the input trim.

Then adjust the master level to the desired output.

Mic output of my pmp3000 is weak, levels must all the way up to get any mic sound louder,Im using balanced xlr's for my mics, Is there any adjustable sensitivity adjustment inside the mixer? like the...

The answer to your question is NO, there is NOT an internal adjustment.

For many mics the trim is used full clockwise. Some higher output mics I use the trims are run at 3 o'clock which is mostly turned up. This is NORMAL for most mixers. If you don't have enough mic gain relative to other inputs, the fault is balancing the other inputs down and using higher setting on your MAIN slider.

If you use 8 ohm speakers then you can expect to get about 200 Watts of audio per side with this amp. You can get about 400 Watts RMS (600 Watts peak) using 4 ohm speakers.

The efficiency of the speakers makes a lot of difference in the sound level output/

Panasonic dvx1000a has no audio input, for xlr connector, the switch line mic is in mic pos. and the external mic not work in that camera.

You have to switch the CH1 and CH2 switches inside the lcd display to input 1 or input 2 to control the xlr inputs. If these switches are in int (L) and int(R) position, then you are adjusting the audio on the CH1 ad CH2 dials below the lcd viewer on the outside of the lcd for the on camera mic. Only use line setting on the front of the camera when you are receiving an audio feed at line level from an audio board. If you set the camera to mic setting, and you are receiving a line level audio signal, you will blow out the audio 0 way too loud, if you are receiving a mic signal and your switch is set to line, you will not be able to hear the mic with the audio Ch1 and ch2 all the way up.

Ipod input for sa-eh760

You can plug the Ipod into the mic input , to do test recording. But the result wont be great.

To listen the Ipod in your stereo you should plug the Ipod into the Auxiliary input on the stereo.

Naturally you do not need any dvd.

Here is the adapter: 1.5M 3.5mm Male to Male AV Audio RCA Y Adapter

Distortion sound

turn down the gain at the mic pre, first plug in the mic then put the channel fader at optimum level, the 0 mark, then use the mic gain adjustment at the mic pre to set the level on the channel/ input meter, if recording using a digital platform keep the level as high as possible without going into red at all on the channel/ input meter, use the master fader to adjust listening volume and use the channel fader to make fine adjustments if needed but the point is to primarily use the mic gain knob to adjust the input level. If you are recording a loud instrument or cabinet with it then you may want to use the pad on the mic or the pad on the console/ mixer if after going through the above steps the level at input is still too hot, should be a switch on the mic or console wich says pad, if the mic has one then use the one on the mic instead of the one on console.

Audio level Issues with Sennheiser Wireless MIcs

Could be your capture device.  Isolate this problem by monitoring the quality of the audio at the RF reciever, then monitor it at the camera.  I'm assuming you do not have a EFP mixer or other device that will actually measure your Dbm or Vu levels - what happens if you play the tape in the camera and monitor the output of the camera with an external device - even a TV or stereo? If it sounds good on your TV turn your attention to the capture card.

Channel Two Input silent

Not sure of particular model, but if it's like z1 then it's convoluted and non-intuitive.
But here goes.. if i can remember.
Go into menu, then audio
check that the channels aren't linked
if set to manual check manual adjustment wheels
The z1 doesn't seem to allow on board mic and xlrs, so check that
Does mic need phantom power?
Is XLR input set to mic?
Sorry i can't be more model specific... but hopefully something of this will be helpfull.. the main thing to check tho is that the xlrs aren't linked
