My memory card won't lock in place therefore I get a "no memory" card message.

Unfortunately it sounds like the locking clip inside the SD card slot is broken or some how stuck? If you can try to look inside the SD card slot in the camera with a flash light, there should be a small clip like plastic to the left sticking out. That is what locks the SD card in place. See if anything is stuck in between like debris, you might gently poke that clip and see if it is stuck? That is what locks the SD card in place, if it is broken or missing, that will require some work to replace the plastic lock.

I have e05 message then an err 002 message, not sure how to fix. Is it possible the prongs are bent were the CF vard is input

Error 002 says memory card is full. Try to delete the card or reformat the card and observe
if camera wont allow to format the card. Try plugging it to a computer or laptop that hs Memory card slot and can read SD/MMC cards and format the card from the laptop

Broken cf prongs

Wow, CF cards. Well, as you said, the prongs broke which means you need it repaired. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=139&modelid=11154#SupportDetailAct

Advice: If you can, sell that and upgrade to the XTi or XT1 version of the Rebel. Now they use SD cards which doesn't have the prongs to break off. Also SD is more of the major memory card that is compatible with electronics. Otherwise, get a point and shoot. They are cheap and also use SD cards.

Repair cost:
2 Prongs replacement = All the prongs replacements. I'm not sure if they have that type in stock anymore. My guess is ranging from 60-100ish USD. Usually they will check to see what is the problem and bill you for their labor and parts.

Card has wrong format?

The first thing you will have to check the card. There is slot on the card that contains a switch. This will lock the card so that it is write-protected. This will cause the unsupported card error.

If the card looks fine, try a card reader just to confirm that the card has not been corrupted.

If the card is functional and you can read its contents from the PC or another SD-slot device, then the issue is your camera. The slot contains thin copper prongs that comes in contact the copper surface on the back of the SD card. If the prongs are bent or damage, then the camera cannot read your card.

Broken prongs where memory card seats.

Hey jarapo,
There are many repair centers you could bring your camera to. I would suggest either contacting Canon and finding an authorized service center in your area, or you could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they could send it out for service. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Not reading my memory card

You may have bent or broken contacts inside the card slot. It's tough to see, but if you look deep inside the slot, you may notice a contact bent or broken. If you're not able to see any damage inside, try taking a cotton swab with some alcohol (isopropyl, not rubbing or drinking type), and cleaning the contacts.
