Question about Lexmark Printers & Copiers

Colours on printout are very different to those on the screen.

    I have a Lexmark X1160 all in one inkjet printer and most of the colours do not print as seen on screen.
    e.g: I had a picture collage set up with 1 picture with a pinkish background and blue foreground, picture below that should have been orange & blue and the next one should have been a mixture of green, orange and pink. All the pictures turned out pink & blue.



    Before writing here I tried all the solutions offered by the help centre, but nothing changed. My cartridges are relatively new, especially the coloured one, only used it twice since it was changed. I have no problems printing with the black cartridge, but I cleaned the nozzles and checked the alignment as well.

    I have since printed a test page on which the yellow colour bar below the picture looked like lines, where the others were complete blocks.



    On a closer look at the alignment page the black, blue & pink were in blocks, whereas the yellow looked like two lines drawn just below one another and not filled in. At the bottom where it checks for broken lines the yellow is not even visible. Could this be something to do with the problem? Maybe a faulty cartridge?



    Hope this is more explanatory than before.

How to Clean the Contacts on the Cartridge Carrier ID: ENUS24064 Power the printer/All-In-One off and unplug the power cable from the outlet.
2 Open the printer/All-In-One lid so that the cartridge carrier can be accessed.
3 Gently move the cartridge carrier into a position where cartridges can be removed.
4 Remove the print cartridges. (For information on cleaning the cartridge contacts, click here.)
5 Using a dry, clean cloth wipe the carrier contacts gently from top to bottom.
6 Repeat Step 5 for the other cartridge slot (if applicable).
7 Reinsert the cartridges, slide the cartridge carrier to its original position, and close the printer/All-In-One lid.
8 Plug the printer/All-In-One back into the power outlet and power it back on.

Hello,

Have you tried replacing the ink cartridges? If not I would suggest trying that. If you have replaced them, I would suggest running the program that came with your printer to align and clean cartridges. Since the model wasn't listed you will need to refer to your manual to find information on those options.

All the copies and print outs are black colour. Why is this happening?


Have you check the gradation print out for each color in the service mode? Recommended that you do that. Does this happen in printing or copying? There is a difference. Any warning to replace certain parts? Check consumables what needs to be replaced? What does the demo page look like? Are the image units OEM? is the transfer belt OEM? Service mode + Counter, details, stop00 stop01, output, gradation pattern.

What is the cause of characterized printout. When I printout a test page, it just prints all sort of digits and numerals in no chronological order. What is the cause, is it the motherboard??


A print test page does just that the printer will print every character that is in its memory, together with lines and if it has colours will also use the different colours

After changing the ink catridges and resetting the drum fuse lately (note: it is known that the fuse will be blown off after certain number of prints but otherwise is in good condition), my Epson Acculaser...


The repeating image is a ghost image, and here is described what it can be. Probably if you solve this, you also solve the red-dot problem. If possible, I would suggest to replace the wiper blade.
Repeating images on laser printerThis likely means a faint ghost of the main printout at a distance equal to the circumference of one of the rollers or photosensitive drum.

Depending on where the problem originates, this could be a bad wiper (cleaning) blade, faulty corona, or incomplete fusing.


  • If the distance between successive images is equal to the circumference of the photosensitive drum, it is a wiper blade, erase lamp, or corona problem.A residual latent image or residual toner is sticking to the drum and not being properly cleared.

  • If the distance between successive images is equal to the circumference of one of the fuser rollers, then the fusing may not be complete due to damaged rollers or an incorrect temperature setting.

It is easy to determine where the problem is located: Interrupt a printout in mid-stride (where part of the paper is between the toner/developer and fuser. If the un-fused image has ghosting, it is a fault in the area of the drum

this is due to the color management for winXP and win7 are different.. you can try to download the printer driver add on for win 7.. else you will have to install manually the color management.

OKI C3400 COLOUR PRINTER


I have had the colour duplicate because the client had used the incorrect toner, if you remove all four drums and toners there are two blue screws to undo , the transfer unit comes up and out. You will have to remove the white waste toner bottle from the belt unit. Remove the two screws holding the blade onto the unit clean the build up from under the blade and repowder the blade with standard setting powder. Put it all back together and test.. Fixed my problem when I was in the field once.

MFC240C - all printouts in green colour


green is a combination of Yellow and Cyan, it is possible that you are missing magenta, depends on the file you are trying to print, if you can print one of each color this time print only magenta it would be helpful to isolate w/c is w/c from there you can find out what is the problem

Streaky printout in colour


Eddie please try to take a photo or scan the streaky printout and post it here for me , if i can see the shapes and sizes of the streaks it would be easier for me to identify your problem
