Question about Sony KP-46WT510 46" Rear Projection HDTV
The convergence output integrated circuits aren't doing their job. These are mounted on a heat sink on the circuit board, but they still get hot enough that sometimes the solder connections to them can break. Resoldering the connections would fix that problem.
It's also possible that the convergence circuit is not getting power, usually be due to failure of one of the outputs, which can cause protective fuses or resistors to blow. This would be harder to repair yourself because it involves determining what parts need to be replaced.
It would probably be worth getting a technician to look at the set and give an estimate for the repair.
