My flash won't charge. the yellow charge light won't go off when the camera is charged. The flash will pop open but won't flash. I have purchased and installed a new battery but it didn't solve the problem. Can anyone help?

Either the internal thyristor charging circuit has failed or the flash capacitor is unserviceable.

Neither fault is worth repairing. Buy a small auto-exposure flashgun and use it in the hotshoe; they're dirt cheap and there are plenty of used ones for free if you ask on FreeCycle.

You'll need to go into the DSC-V1 menus to enable the hot shoe on the top plate of the camera and you'll find that even the smallest and least specified flashgun will give better results, but try to get one with at least two aperture settings within the range f2.8 to f8. Anything outside that range is useless to you as that's the entire aperture range on the DSC-V1. You'll also need to ensure that when taking photos, the camera is set to the same aperture as the flashgun. To do this set the camera mode switch to "A" for aperture priority mode and use the thumbwheel to select the correct aperture, the camera will choose the appropriate shutter speed. You can also use "M" for manual mode in which you set both the aperture and choose the shutter speed. At night, choose 1/60 but the actual exposure will be measured in the thousandths of seconds in which the flash is illuminated.

If you're rich or lucky you'll get a Sony HVL-F32X flashgun; it dwarfs the camera and is very powerful but everything is fully automatic with no manual overrides. For this flashgun, the hotshoe menu setting must be "OFF".

Is your Samsung SL202 flashing a yellow light and not charging its battery?

This is an indication that your camera has decided it needs to completely discharge its battery before the charge cycle begins it again.

Rechargeable batteries last longer and perform better when they are completely discharged before being recharged. This is normal.

I hope that helps.

My nikon D-80's flash won't pop up, yet it also won't go past the flash sync speed of 1/200 while flash is down

Was the camera impacted? Sound like the flash up switch if always closed. Remove battery. If you carefully remove the flash cover (two screw underneath) by first inserting a business card under the flash on the rewind side (yeah, we haven't come up with a better term!) at the back and slide it forward freeing the flash down latch), and do not touch the flash tube as there is 300 + volts across it if it is charged!

Look at the pivot for the flash on the release button side at the back, you will see a small switch. the top part may be under the activating rod - reset it above the rod and it will now work properly

Once again, be careful - there are 300 volts across the flash tube if it is charged

When i go to charge my kodak M863 camera (in the wall or by USB) the green light flashes and then the red light blinks 3 times. please help this is the first time charging my camera.

You can used the USB cable to charged the camera, But some of the M863 camera will not take charged usign the USB cable., I strongy suggest used the AC adaptor just make sure the AC adaptor is 5V ac adaptor it will only charged using the 5V adaptor., About the flashing green it indicates camera is charging just wait for the solid green light it means it fully charged

You may purchased also a special charger for your battery(KLIC-7001)- cahrer model is K8600-C. i think the price of this charger is around $29.00

Problem charging

If you are referring to a flashing yellow light on the charging base, this is an error code. Either the 1) battery is bad, 2) not making good contact in the charger, or 3) very very low on charge. The solution for this set of problems is as follows: 1) have the company you purchased them from replace them, 2) clean your contacts with a pencil eraser, 3) leave the battery on the charger with the yellow light flashing for an hour or two. If the battery is just very low on a charge, it will come back to life and the light will change to be constant. If the battery is bad or shorted out, the light will continue to flash and you will need to get with the vendor you purchased the batteries from.

Other things which come to mind are compatibility issues such as you are using a different battery chemistry than you had before. NiCd batteries can charge on either of the two chargers available for the P110 (slow rate or fast rate). However, NiMH and Li-Ion batteries require a fast rate charger.

If you are referring to a yellow blinking light on the radio while it is in the charger. You need to shut your radio off. Radios should always be turned off when charging. If the radio is left on you will never have a full charge. Also, if you inadvertently press the PTT while the radio is turned on, while on a charger, you can cause damage to the radio.

FYI: There is no light to show "out of range" on the radio, unless you are possibly using a trunking or repeater system. A blinking light on your radio indicates the radio is turned on and/or there is traffic on your frequency. Your charger base light can be red, yellow or green. This indicates the charge cycle status. Flashing most always means some type of error.

Best regards

When ever i take a picture, the orange light turns on acting like its going to take a picutre but it doesnt. When i take it off flash, it takes the picture.

The orange light blinking means the flash is charging, once the light goes off you can go ahead take picture with flash. Your light keeps blinking because the flash is not ready.
Try with fully charged batteries. If it won’t work, you may have an open fuse or something wrong with the flash circuit.

WON"T WORK

sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)
