Is Windows Firewall turned on? If so are you on a router that already has a firewall turned on as well?

Pc is slowing dwn, 'cos of the huge animateddata on the net, flash, java, pluging that integrates natively media player, itunes, etc...

Your can manage to browse the internet without them, by refusing their access to your browser, but I advice you to use some other browser than Iexplorer to manage that, (for me IE must stay at basic config, and when you have problems with your other customized browsr, you check back to IE to see if your customized one is going on bad before it does), I use Opera its wonderfull, you can remove flash java, from a click without the need of restart, even photos cand be removed, no annoying emergings sounds from detestable audio ads...

Dear User,

Calling upon Internet (VOIP), depends on Internet connection speed. As there is heavy amount of data transferred during the process. So any slow speed may cause the problems such as you are facing. It may also be caused by poor quality or microphone.

Thanks

Video streaming that constantly buffers

At&t offers 4 speeds to its customers, 768 kbps 1.5 mbps, 3.0 mbps & 6.0 mbps.  On the 1.5 connection depending on what type of video you're watching, you will experience some glitching.  If your general internet seems slow, then scan for malware/spyware.
I reccomend you use malwarebytes free version doesn't give realtime protection

My pc is so sluggish, just nothing will start and the mouse cursor remains busy whatever I do.

Here are some steps you can take to speed up your PC, in order of preference (if one step doesn't help, escalate to the next one):
  • Restart the PC and open just one program. See if it's faster. If so, run fewer programs at a time.
  • Scan for malware (viruses and spyware) - this one is first because it's generally a good practice for preventing other issues. Malware runs in the background and hog the computer's resources, which slows everything down.
  • Follow the steps in Microsoft's guide for speeding up your PC (be sure to back up your entire disk before defragmenting or repairing any disk errors).
  • Install more memory (RAM).
  • Upgrade to a larger hard drive or install a secondary one to which you can offload some files to free up space on the first one.

My internet is slow

Your internet connection speed may be faster as stated.

You may have a firewall blocking/filtering all traffic, that slows down your system. Disable or uninstall this firewall that could do some help.

also disable windows automatic updates. This creates more internet traffic.

If you can turn off automatic updates...it will make some difference.

The more RAM your system have, the more faster internet experience you will get.
